We have recently gotten some news from some residents inside and near Pleasant Grove that they are in need of rubbermaid containers of all and any sizes so that they can transport any belonging they have out of the town, once they leave they do not know when they will be allowed back inside. We have also heard that they need some other things as well, below is a list of these items. We will be collecting donations at the church tonight from 4-7pm and Saturday from 6am-6pm. Any volunteers that would like to help with taking in donations and sorting them, and bagging them up is welcomed to join us. This event at the church is open to all ages so the youth would be great for this event. How many volunteers we will need depends on how much we have donated. I am also in contact with the Walker County Sheriffs dept. and they are in need of some help, I will pass more on along as I get more info. For now the donations and getting what we have donated ready to be handed out is top priority. The Tuscaloosa team will still be leaving the church tomorrow at 7:30am and they have a few more leads lined up for once they arrive. They are looking for anyone who has gas cans they can borrow or generators, please contact Jay Cofield if you can help with these items. His email is [email protected] or by phone at 936-3822. Items we Need! * shampoo and soaps (both adult and baby) *toothpaste and toothbrushes (both adult and child) *small travel sized brushes and combs *washcloths *deodorant (gender neutral) *diapers *baby care items *and of course LOTS of water *rubbermaid containers of any and all sizes *gallon sized ziploc bags Anyone wanting to volunteer for any project listed can call Kristi Gaskin at 516-0789 or email her at [email protected] Anyone with questions about the donation items can call Lisa Shadix at 837-4762 or 621-0977 or email her at [email protected] Jay Cofield is in charge of tomorrows Tuscaloosa outreach he can be contacted at the numbers I listed earlier. and any other info or questions can come to me Mandy Hays and I can be reached at 621-3339 or 965-7794 or by email at [email protected] Also we have lots of plans for the next few weeks in the works, we hope to have an opportunity for all ages to help. And we are open to people outside the church who have been looking for a way to volunteer helping, but they still need to to be in contact with the people I listed earlier. That way we can make sure they have all the information they need and we will know how many to expect. Thanks so much for all of your help in getting this information out to everyone, you are amazing! Also you can put the word out in all forms if you can. Blessings, Mandy Hays
