Post Title: Employer Engagement Advisor

Reporting to: Employer Engagement Team Leader

Summary of the Post The postholder will be required to identify sustained job opportunities for the Worklessness Provision within College. The successful candidate will form part of a team that will contribute to increasing the number of job opportunities and employers engaged with the College. The post holder will be required to work in a target driven environment.

Main Duties  Cold call employers and external organisations to arrange appointments, generate, promote and increase job opportunities  Actively sell Barnsley College products and services within targets and timescales set by line manager  To achieve recruitment targets as agreed with the Skills 4 Jobs Programme Manager.  To liaise with sales coordinators to generate growth of the worklessness programme  To engage with existing and new employers to promote the worklessness programme  Work with a caseload to secure job opportunities through sales activities  To contribute to the growth of Apprenticeships through progression routes from the Worklessness provision  To engage with external stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth in job outcomes and Apprenticeships  Disseminate and interpret labour market information  Represent the College at external events  Maintain accurate statistical and financial data, reports and records as required by management and external agencies  To maintain effective manual and IT based systems, databases and procedures  Maintain an administrative system including the gathering/collating of information from a variety of sources to agreed deadlines  To maintain confidentiality in respects of the policies and procedures within the department  Any other duties commensurate with the grade as appropriate  Engage in the implementation of College Quality systems  Show a commitment to diversity, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices  Show a commitment to ensuring that children and young people learn in a safe environment.  Participate in relevant and appropriate training and development as required  These duties may be amended from time to time by the line manager in consultation with the postholder

Recruitment/HR/9-05 Departmental Duties Through the Employer Response Unit, the Skills 4 Jobs department delivers support to individuals at risk of redundancy, and those on Job Seekers Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance across South and West Yorkshire (in particular Barnsley, Sheffield, Kirklees and Calderdale). The SFA fixed term contracts are designed to support individuals to gain employment by giving them the appropriate skills to re-enter the job market quickly.

The postholder will be responsible for locating sustained job opportunities for worklessness learners through sales activities.

Method of Working Barnsley College expects all staff to work effectively as part of a team or teams, delivering high quality education and support to staff and students. As a minimum this requires dealing with people politely and tactfully, communicating with colleagues and students both formally and informally, offering guidance and information in accordance with College guidelines, polices and procedures when requested and contributing to the maintenance of the Barnsley College environment. In order to do this staff are expected to make themselves aware of the relevant polices and procedures. All staff are required to maintain confidentiality as required.

It is a prime objective therefore that staff will at all times project to the public the image of the College as keen to assist wherever possible, and positively promote the work that is carried out across its various services.
