Quick Start Instructions for the AEA Media Catalog:
It’s a SNAP to reserve materials!
Ordering/Reserving materials is much like shopping on the Internet and is similar to ordering from Amazon
Two ways to access the catalog
Go to http://media.ia-hsdn.net (Suggestion: Bookmark this site as a favorite.)
OR
Go to the Prairie Lakes AEA home page at http://www.aea8.k12.ia.us and click on the Media Catalog tab which is located in the upper right.
Logging In
User Name
Your complete school e-mail address
OR
User name is generally: first initiallastname (Example: mdewey for Melville Dewey) If you have a common last name, please be cautious as you may be ordering for another teacher with the same first initial and last name. Check to be sure that your school building is indicated in the upper right portion of the search page.
Password -
Contact your Teacher-Librarian or call us (800-594-9494) for the default password
Searching
Enter your search term or title number and click “Search.”
Click on the shopping basket under the item description to add to your shopping cart.
Refine your search by selecting desired limiters under the “Narrow Search” filters in the right column.
When selections are completed, click on the “Proceed to Checkout” located in the upper right portion of the screen.
Click on “Submit My Order” bar if date is acceptable.
To change date, click on blue calendar icon in “Needed” column, then click on “Check Availability” button. Once the blue “Booked” message is visible in the far left column, you have successfully completed a reservation and can expect delivery on the date indicated.
