A higher voltage sine wave will last longer before crossing the minimum threshold voltage required by the coils to fire a spark plug. This will reduce the no response dead zone in spark advance. When starting the engine on magneto, spark plugs will fire at lower RPM. Introduction New technology Simulated Engine Induction Side Lift was as follows: Nine magnets held more then 12 pounds. One held 15.282 pounds. The strongest held 18.278 pounds. Maximum conventional End Lift of Flywheel 1 magnets was 12.928 pounds. The equipment required for charging magnets are a battery charger, house wire wound into two coils, keepers machined from steel bar, and a hiking compass.

Instructions include magnet removal from flywheel, ring testing for crack detection, flywheel balancing and magnet installation. The Simulated Engine Induction Side Lift test fixture enables measuring the recharged magnet side lift capability using water poured into a pail. Another fixture for measuring the recharged magnet end lift capability, using water poured into a pail, is not included because it is more complex and it relies on the magnet ends, which are often malformed. This presentation is restoration, not grinding the ends. Besides, in the engine, the magnetic flux induction is from the side, not from the ends. Statistics of recharging 296 magnets, detecting cracked magnets (6 found) and testing the magnets are included. Each pear shaped slip-on coil is wound from a 50 foot spool of #14 solid copper, thin insulated (THHN), wire from Home Depot. The two coils are powered in parallel by a $39.99 Harbor Freight Tools, circuit breaker protected, 6/12 volt battery charger in the 55 amp start mode. On Flywheel 3, magnet 1L, after accidentally reversing the polarity, and correcting it, the magnet picked up 15.366 pounds despite the extra power required to overcome hysteresis energy loss. Recharging occurs in 1 second. Five secrets are: 1. Vertically packing in 144 of turns in each coil, the maximum number, on a coil winding machined mandrel. 2. Crossing over outside the magnet leg, to start each layer at the left end so as to fully nest the wires. 3. Creating a self-supporting air breathing coil without a bobbin. 4. Assembling magnets in pairs to make their own keepers. 5. Preparing for Storage or Shipment. Clean and dry magnets. Stack 2 pairs high; making 4 stacks, that is making four magnets high. Now slide a leg of another stack of four so that the legs of one touch the inside bend of the other stack Repeat that for the other eight magnets. The nested eight magnet pairs would fit in a 5" x 6" x 3 1/8" space with half pointing in opposite direction. Anyone offering to recharge magnets must ring test in half inch increments for cracks, assign a number, identify polarity, magnetize, weigh and record Induction Side Lift. The US Office has a box 8.5" wide x 11" long x 5.5" high that ships 70 pounds anywhere in the US for $11.35 in 3 days. See page 9 of Magnet Recharging Reconceived for Model T Fords for packing details. For the Compact Disk (CD) send $15 to MAX TREECE, 5052 WINDSOR DR., SAN DIEGO, CA 92109-1341. The detail presented therein can save a lot of time and grief.
