Each head coach personally selects and trains his or her own staff of top club, high school, and college coaches. All staff members are chosen based on their extensive knowledge of their sport and for their enthusiasm for teaching children in the sport they love. Campers may also have the opportunity to meet collegiate players or special guest speakers who are invited to share their outstanding talents and experiences.

Excel in Our First Rate Facilities Athletic fields used by national champions and Olympic teams. Courts used by NCAA Division II champions and NBA and WNBA stars. UC Davis boasts some of the top- notch NCAA Division II athletic facilities in the state. All campers will use the same courts, pools and playing fields that the UC Davis Aggies collegiate athletes use.

Relax in a Safe and Friendly Environment Aggie campers are under the full guidance of experienced camp staff. All camps feature a 1:10 instructor/camper ratio. Athletic trainers and other CPR/First Aid certified personnel are on hand for the duration of the camps. UC Davis maintains secondary medical insurance coverage on all camp participants. The cost of any related treatment is billed to the injured camper’s parents/guardians, who would then submit the claim to their insurance carrier. Campers will not be registered or permitted to participate in camp unless the proper forms are completed.

About the Camp About the Camp This 4-day camp is designed for players of all skill levels, ages 7 years to Shooter’s Camp: For players of all skill levels. About the Camp Beginner/Intermediate Camp - Designed to teach basic fundamentals to those with no prior Varsity H.S. experience, ages 10-15 years. Emphasis is on individual skill repetitions and introduction to basic offensive and defensive systems.

Advanced Camp - This camp is designed for those with prior varsity and/or advanced club experience, ages 15 to graduating high school seniors. Setters and hitters will get advanced instruction in separate and combined sessions. Emphasis is on refining skills necessary to succeed at the advanced Varsity and Club levels. Athletes hoping to compete at the collegiate level will benefit from this camp.

About the Staff Aggies’ Head Coach Stephanie Hawbecker and Assistant Coach Ping Chou direct the camp with assistance from current players. Coach Hawbecker has coached and directed camps for 20 years and has been a Head Coach at the collegiate level for 12 years. Coach Chou has coached camps for 10 years and is an accomplished player, as well as the former Head Coach of the UC Davis Men’s Club team.

Camp Dates, Times and Fees Includes four days of instruction, camp T-shirt and certificate of achievement.

There may be fewer boys than girls registered for this camp. Requests for refunds, will not be granted after the cancellation deadline.

About the Camp Basketball Day Camp is for athletes 4 years old to 13 years old and specifically focuses on improving the offensive aspect of your personal game. Instruction emphasizes basketball fundamentals, including shooting skills, ball handling, passing, footwork, shot selection, positioning, rebounding and the proper mental approach. You will also learn how to overcome common shooting errors and have a lot of fun participating in 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 competitions designed to let you successfully apply the techniques you will be learning. In addition, you will leave camp with a good understanding of offensive fundamentals and a variety of drills designed to enhance your basketball potential.

About the Staff The Aggies’ head coach Gary Stewart and his assistant coaches direct the camp, teaching the skills and techniques, which have helped UC Davis, become one of the elite programs in the country. The Aggies were among the nation’s leaders in scoring defense this past season and were among Division II’s best teams in several other statistical categories.
