Permanent Whole-time Post

Applications are invited for the above permanent whole-time post in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative lecturer in Audiology. The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and supporting the development of the new 2-year MSc Audiology programme, which will have its first intake of students in 2015. The successful candidate will have a professional (clinical) qualification in Audiology and a postgraduate qualification in Audiology or related discipline. Applicants without a doctorate level qualification must be prepared to commit to registering for a doctorate degree following appointment. As well as having experience in clinical and classroom teaching and learning in Audiology, the appointee will be expected to be research active, supervise student research and participate on department and college committees. Reporting to the Head of Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and research in Audiology.

The MSc Audiology programme is located in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, within the School of Clinical Therapies. Over the past 12 years, the School has developed a range of clinical healthcare programmes at both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. In addition, the School has a strong commitment to research and growing suite of continuing professional development modules supporting life-long learning.

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship Salary Scale (new entrants 2011): €31,821 - €51,270/€62,353 - €76,942 *Existing public servants continuously employed in the public sector on/after 31st December 2010 will be placed on the 2010 salary scales (non new entrants)
