Position Summary:

The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the Ohio State University invites applications for Graduate Research Assistantships for Ph.D. degree in the area of Air Quality and Bioenvironmental Engineering. The successful candidates will be work on developing electrostatic precipitation based dust mitigation technologies including characterization of particular matter emissions from poultry facilities, design and optimization of electrostatic precipitators and electrostatic wet scrubbers, evaluation of performance of the new dust control devices in lab and fields, and presentation and publication of the research findings at professional meetings and journals.

The Air Quality and Bioenvironmental Laboratory at OSU is equipped with advanced equipment and facilities to conduct the proposed research. The department and university offer strong support for all aspects of research and graduate study.

Qualifications:

M.S degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related Engineering disciplines; genuine interests in bioenvironmental engineering and air pollution mitigation, ability to quickly learn and adopt new skills and knowledge in solving real-world problems, strong oral and written communication skills; knowledge and experience in statistical analysis and experimental design for technology development and optimization, and aspiration and dedication to a successful academic or industry career.

Salary and Benefits:

Starting salary/stipend and position will be commensurate with experience. Position will include full benefits including tuition.
