Guidelines for Awarding the Scholarships The award process will be competitive. The selection committee will choose the worthy candidate(s) to receive the award(s) based on the criteria established. The selection of the scholarship recipients will be based on merit, without regard to race, religion, sex or other demographic factors.

Eligibility - Applicant must be currently working in a healthcare security or safety function and has been working in this field for at least one year - Applicant must have an exemplary work record (be a member in good standing within their department or company) - Applicant must be enrolled in a formal degree program - Applicant must be employed at a facility within Massachusetts - Applicant must provide all documents requested and complete the application form within the appropriate timeline Criteria The criteria of this scholarship is to identify appropriate applicant(s) who have demonstrated professionalism and exemplary performance within the security or safety field, have shown the personal traits of good character and are in the process of trying to enhance their skills through formal education. Applicants looking to advance his/her career in the healthcare security or safety field will be given priority. Application Packet Application Packet should be completely filled out. The Application Packet should include the following items 1. Scholarship Application form (completed by the applicant) 2. Employer Verification / Recommendation (filled out by Direct Supervisor) 3. Professional Recommendation Form (submit 1 professional recommendation) 4. Personal Recommendation Form (submit up to 3 personal recommendations) 5. Most recent official college transcript

Selection Process All applications should be received by Monday October 31, 2016. The selection committee will review all applications and interview final candidates during the first two weeks of November. Applicants should be prepared to interview with the Selection Committee if named as a finalist. Every applicant will be notified by the end of November of the award decision.

Responsibilities of the Recipient The recipient understands that by accepting this scholarship he/she is required to attend two IAHSS functions in the upcoming year and will have his/her name and picture posted on the Boston Chapter website.
