PSUK Ladies Football Tournament 2015

Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May 2015

1. Tournament

Lancashire Constabulary are hosting the 2015 PSUK Ladies Football Tournament on Saturday 2nd May 2015 and Sunday 3rd May 2015.

The tournament will be played at Lancashire Police Headquarters, Saunders Lane, Hutton, Preston, PR4 5TJ.

Police Headquarters will also be the location for all the matches, majority of the accommodation and the Saturday evening function.

2. Tournament Team Entry Fee £195 (squad maximum of 18)

The team entry fee of £195 will be required to be paid in full by Friday 20th February 2015

Payments should be made by cheque to ‘Lancashire Constabulary Football Club’ and sent to Martin Kane at the address below.

Your entry form can be emailed and your cheque in the post, however your entry will not be confirmed until receipt of full payment.

3. Accommodation

 Option 1 The tournament will have sole use of the Police Training school facilities on site which includes 112 single en suite rooms at £16.00 per person per night.

This rate includes a hot breakfast, free parking, use of gymnasium and free Wi-Fi.

The Training School can also provide further meals at additional cost and will provide these if required. There are a number of restaurants/ pubs and take aways in the local area also.

These rooms should be requested with your booking form below and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

All teams will be notified via email when Police HQ rooms are fully allocated.

Hotel accommodation has been reserved for Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, Reedfield Place, Walton Summit, Preston, PR5 8AA. This is situated directly off junction 29 of the M6 motorway and 5 miles from Police Headquarters.

There are 40 rooms (combination of twins and doubles) reserved for the tournament at the hotel at £36 per person per night when sharing a room. A room for single occupancy is £48 per person per night. There are no triple rooms. These rates include a hot breakfast, free parking (large car park) and free Wi-Fi.

The rooms are currently reserved at this discounted rate until 27th February 2015 only. After this date any of the reserved rooms not booked will be released to the general public and any booking for the tournament after that date cannot be guaranteed, and the discounted rate will no longer apply.

Payment for the rooms is made on checkout and therefore you will be able to cancel your room up to 48hrs prior to the event.

Please book the rooms direct with the Holiday Inn at Preston South on 01772 289700 using the reference ‘LPT – Lanc team’. Guests will be asked for a credit/debit card to guarantee their bookings with.

5. Travel

The nearest mainline railway station is Preston Central (3 miles) which is serviced by the Virgin West Coast Line with direct links to London Euston (2 hours 8 mins), Glasgow Central (2 hours 20 mins), Edinburgh(2 hours 24 mins) and Birmingham New Street (1 hour 36 mins). There are also services to Newcastle, Leeds and Sheffield.

The nearest airports are Manchester (45 miles) and Liverpool (38 miles) which again are well serviced by Ryanair, Easyjet (Belfast International to both Liverpool and Manchester), FlyBe (Belfast City to both Liverpool and Manchester, Southampton,

6. Saturday Night Entertainment

Details will follow with regards to the format and cost of the Saturday evening function. The cost of the meal/ entertainment will be in line with previous years, £25 - £35.

7. Tournament Format

The actual format of the tournament will be decided when final team numbers are confirmed. The tournament will be played on 2 pitches simultaneously and in a group/ round robin format.

8. First Aid

It will be the responsibility of each individual team to provide first aid to their players. The tournament organisers will provide additional support if necessary.
