“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Spirit of Fear of the Lord- Fear of the Lord! An awe, reverence, respect, honor of the Lord. To fear the Lord is when you know that you cannot do ANYTHING apart from Him. It is the reverential fear to only bring Him glory.

“…The spirit of knowledge and spirit of the fear of The Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears.” Isaiah 11:2, 3

“By humility and the fear of the Lord (are) riches and honor, and life.” Prov. 22:4 KJV

“The fear of the Lord is instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.” Prov. 15:33 KJV

What is fear? fear (Dictinary.com) noun 1.a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. Synonyms: foreboding, apprehension, consternation, dismay, dread, terror, fright, panic, horror, trepidation, qualm. Antonyms: courage, security, calm, intrepidity. 2.a specific instance of or propensity for such a feeling: an abnormal fear of heights. Synonyms: phobia, aversion; bête noire, bogy, bogey, bugbear. Antonyms: liking, fondness, penchant, predilection. 3.concern or anxiety; solicitude: a fear for someone's safety. 4.reverential awe, especially toward God: the fear of God. Synonyms: awe, respect, reverence, veneration. 5.something that causes feelings of dread or apprehension; something a person is afraid of: Cancer is a common fear. 7.to regard with fear; be afraid of. Synonyms: apprehend, dread. 8.to have reverential awe of. Synonyms: revere, venerate, honor. 9.to consider or anticipate (something unpleasant) with a feeling of dread or alarm: It's about to snow again, I fear. 10.Archaic. to experience fear in (oneself): I fear me he will ne'er forgive us.

Fruit of fear – fear and trauma, anxiety, stress, heart disease and high blood

Root of all fear:

Fear of death

Hebrews 2:15 “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

Proverbs 14:27 “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.”

Our victory over fear of death is in Christ Jesus. He has given us eternal life and taken back the keys of death and hell. Revelation 1:18

Fear of man

Proverbs 29:25 “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”

Love is the answer

1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

Obviously, it speaks to ‘scare’ you. "What if?"

Worry and stress and anxiety

Recognizing the eyes of fear

Recognizing the physical symptoms of fear

It paralyzes and shuts you down; rapid heartbeat; faint; tremors; cold uncaring heart; cold sweat; it can cause any symptoms in your body likened unto a heart attack.

Fear wars against love and faith

Works with infirmity- all sickness and diseases

It isolates you to keep you alone

Love of the world – I John 2

Fear can partner with any spirit

Fear can wear a mask or pretend to be something else:

I have no fear! Pride, control, performance, grade A flesh, over compensating Let's just ignore it and pretend it is not here or disassociation

Your body knows when you do this! It will catch up with you.

Familiar spirits – family and self

Torment and unforgiveness Fear of being loved Hard heart Wounded spirit Self hate Poor self esteem Inferiority and insecurities Bad dreams Children and nightmares - demons - it's real - listen to them Replace fear with Jesus!!!!! Make Jesus their HERO!

Fear and the call or mission of God

"I've never done this before!" "I am not sure I can do it!" Go with someone ... You may feel scared but you keep going!

6 Do Not Fear Encountering God’s Presence

Fear wants to prophesy your future We want the spirit of prophecy

Revelation 19:1-16

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Control and Slavery from within

Job 3:25 “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.”

2 Peter 2:19 “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.”

Victory over Fear – God will make you bold, courageous, free, faith FULL, strong, tenacious, steadfast, overcoming. He will give you an enduring spirit and one who perseveres under trial. He will empower you to be more than a conqueror, as you believe in Jesus!

We are commanded by God to "Fear Not!"
