3. About the Department: Management has clearly been recognized as critical to the process of economic development of a developing country like ours. Technological and other developments precede a pace and challenge not only the quantum of knowledge and its accessibility but also the nature and manner of work itself. Graduates need to make plan to differentiate themselves in the marketplace. A critical element of this differentiation involves a commitment to continuous learning and a willingness to accept personal challenges. Considering the importance of management, the University of Rajshahi established the Department of Management in the year 1972. The Department was placed under the Faculty of Commerce. The Department renamed as Department of Management Studies in January 2012.

The Department is providing quality education in management and producing quality managers, executives, and successful entrepreneurs and always trying to enhance the quality of higher education in the field of business from the inception. However, the main aim of the department is to create skilled and professional manpower in the field of business and non-business organizations to meet the challenges of modern business.

Currently the department of management studies is offering three different programs to its students namely Bachelor of Business Administration (a four year undergraduate program), Master of Business Administration (one year graduate program), and Evening Master of Business of Administration (EMBA) program (2 years graduate program). In addition, the department offers Post-graduate research programs i.e., M.Phil and Ph.D and the programs are conducted by a number of highly qualified, and competent academic faculties educated from reputed local and foreign universities. A good number of faculties are involved in research. 6. Objectives of the Program: With the passage of time, the Department of Management Studies has attainted 43 years of age. Over 43 years, the department has produced more than 7500 graduates. Students who did graduation from this department are serving in different organizations successfully. As a student of second largest public university in Bangladesh, they are contributing to develop the society as a whole. Due to the development of information technology and system, it becomes easier now-a-days to connect people, than in the past. But, through this initiative, the time has come to connect with one another again for forever. There is a tremendous response to attend the program from our ex- students. We think, the Alumni Association will build a bridge of relations between the department and the ex-students. So, we are hoping that the program will be a very successful one in respect of gathering and connecting our graduates. Target Participants: Graduates from Management Department, Rajshahi University who are (i.e., government and non government officials, public and private university teachers, government and private college teachers, bankers, officials of multinational organizations) now serving almost every organizations in the country. Besides them, business owners, entrepreneurs, industrialist, foreign nationals, etc along with VIPs, social dignitaries will participate in the program. Fresh graduates and existing students will also participate in the program. We are expecting that, some VIPs and special guest will participate at the beginning session of the program, i.e., President of FBCCI, Some distinguished Educationist along with VC, Pro-VC, Treasurer and Registrar of Rajshahi University. 8.
