Dear

You are receiving this letter because your art is valued, cherished, and admired. The images and objects you create reconnect us to one of the most important faculties we possess: imagination.

As an artist, you know the inestimable value of the arts, how deeply important they are to our mind, body, and spirit. At Sierra Waldorf School, the arts are taught throughout the day in every grade, whether it is a kindergartner sculpting beeswax, a 5th grader learning symphony violin, or an 8th grader performing a full-length Shakespeare play. Sculpting, music, drama, and dance; poetry, cooking, gardening, and woodworking; knitting, watercolor drawing, puppetry, and pottery—these are but some of the art experiences each student receives throughout their education at SWS.

Every year, Sierra Waldorf School is faced with fiscal challenges. And every year the doors stay open, providing an amazing educational opportunity for children from Nursery-age through 8th grade. One goal of a Waldorf education is to model the idea of social renewal—a philosophy of going out into the world and giving back to it the gifts that each individual has to offer. It is in this vein of social renewal that we ask for your help in our on-going effort to strengthen the financial vitality of our school.

The SWS fundraising committee, in partnership with allégorie winery, is hosting a miniature art show and auction. We are seeking donations of original art pieces, approximately 9x7 inches or smaller. (Please see attached entry information form for more details.) Your generous gift to Sierra Waldorf School is tax-deductible. Please include contact information with your submission to receive a tax donation letter.

Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to cultivate a thriving school community, to keep art alive and vital in education, and to light up the creative imagination of every Sierra Waldorf School student.

In Gratitude,
