The Older Peoples Service provides a range of services across Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby. These include psychological and social therapies, and medical treatments which are tailored to an individuals needs.

Services always try to be holistic in their approach to work with service users and carers to improve health and quality of life. A persons preference, cultural and religious background will always be taken into account. Services may be provided at a hospital, or in a persons own home.

The approach is based on teams of specialist professionals working together, known as the multidisciplinary team approach. Teams visiting people at home are called community mental health teams.

Services offered are for all people aged 65 or more living within the geographical area covered by Mersey Care NHS Trust, and people under age 65 who suffer from young onset dementia.
