1 [944] 1 1 resounding victory over Daniel High School in the State 2 Championship; and 3 4 Whereas, with their win at the state championship, the 5 Brookland-Cayce Girls Varsity Volleyball Team sealed their great 6 season with their twentieth victory, bringing their overall record to 7 20-3 for the 2003 season; and 8 9 Whereas, the Brookland-Cayce Girls Varsity Volleyball Team 10 brought great pride to not only themselves and their friends and 11 families but also to the students, faculty, alumni, and staff of 12 Brookland-Cayce High School and the community as a whole; and 13 14 Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Eva Akins, 15 Merebeth Cleland, Sarah Conwell, Ashley Darden, Candace 16 Henderson, Amanda Holyfield, Marta Kohn, Sarah Lusk, Jamie 17 Oren, Natasha Parker, Tiffany Perkins, and Kayla Smith; and 18 19 Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the physical 20 abilities of these young South Carolinians and hope that they will 21 use their athletic skills and abilities to win many more 22 championships in the future. Now, therefore, 23 24 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 25 concurring: 26 27 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 28 Carolina, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to the 29 Brookland-Cayce High School Varsity Girls Volleyball Team and 30 their Head Coach, John Checkovich, and Assistant Coach, Ninya 31 Checkovich, on winning the 2003 Class AAA Girls Varsity 32 Volleyball State Championship and to commend them for their 33 hard work, competitive spirit, and dedication to become a 34 championship team. 35 36 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 37 the Brookland-Cayce High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team. 38 ----XX---- 39
