Program Name: Project Description Holiday Park Adult Volunteer Program The Holiday Park Adult Volunteer Program seeks to provide several different opportunities for adult volunteers to be actively involved in the promotion of reading and writing efforts on campus. The School Name: program will place volunteers in three specific roles: Holiday Park Elementary - reader/listener, publisher, and tutor. Holiday Park Cartwright Elementary School District School has implemented book rooms - a new resource for students and staff. Adult volunteers will not only manage the book rooms, but also read to students and listen to students read. As Project Location: publishers, adult volunteers will work with teachers 4417 N. 66th Avenue to complete copy orders teachers have filled out Phoenix, AZ 85033 which identify student materials they wish to be published. Coordination with School Reform Initiatives Volunteers will be introduced and receive training in To utilize adult volunteers as the purpose and benefit of the Arizona Academic literacy and writing tutors for K-6 Standards. As such, the volunteers become aware of students what is expected or students at each grade level, which will enable them to work with students in setting goals for achievement through tutoring.
To implement a program(s) that will Citizenship, Responsibility, and help achieve OYG (one year’s Civic Pride Outcomes growth) for all students on Arizona Adult volunteers will serve as positive role models standardized tests for the students they interact with by stressing the importance and benefit of improved literacy. Additionally, volunteers become advocates of the school and student work by promoting academic excellence in the community. 31
