FS JUNIORS VOLLEYBALL CLUB 2014-15 SEASON FACT SHEET
REGION FACTS Member of USA Volleyball USA Volleyball is a national governing body for the sport of volleyball in the United States and is recognized by the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Member of the HOA Region of USA Volleyball. AGE GROUP COSTS AND OTHER BENEFITS The cost to be a member of FS Juniors Volleyball Club will be $365 per player. This will include 2 times per week training session, uniform, 1 club sweatshirt, 5 tournaments. Coaches with coaching experience or prior USA Volleyball playing experience. Position specialist training conducted by experienced coaches. If teams want to participate in the USA Volleyball Heart of America Regionals, additional tournaments or in a national qualifier, the cost will be additional to the club fee.
ADDITIONAL COSTS NOT PART OF CLUB FEES $50 per player USA Volleyball membership registration fee – must be completed prior to tryout. Help cover cost of coach’s travel and meal expenses for tournaments outside of Fort Scott – recommended $20 per coach. Player travel expenses to and from tournaments. Injury supplies – coaches will have emergency supplies, but not for regular use. As mentioned above, teams wishing to attend a higher caliber tournament outside the region to expose its players to top competition and college coaches – older age groups will have the opportunity to travel to Kansas City to Show-Me Qualifier (a national qualifier tournament).
HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF YOU MAKE THE TEAM Players making their age group team will be contacted within 48 hours after tryouts. If you are not contacted, it means you were not selected.
IF YOU ARE SELECTED Tryouts – Nov. 9 for 14 &U, Nov. 9 for 15-18 & U. Tryouts at Buck Run Community Center. You will need to confirm acceptance at the time of a call or within 12 hours so that your spot can be secured. If not, we will need to contact others on the shortlist for the same positions.
PRACTICE/COMPETITIVE CALENDAR Position specialist training will take place throughout the 5 months of training. Practices will start in early January. Practice schedules will be given to players at practice. Players will be required to attend practice unless previous arrangements have been made. Season: From January – April Typical playing schedule is every other weekend. Saturday and Sunday are typical playing day for tournaments. In some circumstances, both days.
CLUB FEES The total cost will be $365. Club fees can be paid in full at club banquet or divided in two payments in December and January. First payment ($182.50) will be due at club banquet and second payment ($182.50) will be due on first practice in January. A participant will not be able to practice or play without payments due on time.
