NOTICE OF RACE XVI International regatta “COR CAROLI” 12 – 15. August 2016

1. EVENT Regatta “Cor Caroli” will take place along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast from 12th to 15th of August 2016 (according to art. 8 Program).

2. ORGANI Z ER The regatta is organized by “Cor Caroli” Foundation. Co-organizers: Varna Municipality and Yacht club “capt. Georgi Georgiev-Port Varna”

3. CLASSES The regatta will be held in following classes:

 Class IRC – keel yachts, divided in the following sub-classes: IRC 1 - Boats with Hull Factor greater than 7,5 and DLR less than 200. IRC 2 - Boats with Hull Factor equal or less than 7,5. IRC 3 Classic - models older than 30 years.  Class Conrad 25R  Class Open with LOA up to 10 m. Class Open with LOA over 10 m. The classification of the boats in the different classes will be decided only by the Regatta Committee and can not be a reason for redress A minimum of three yachts will form a class.

SUBMISSION At registration, in addition to thе completed application form for participation- each boat must present:

REGISTRATION FORM S  Entry form;  Valid sailing certificate of the yacht (validated for 2016);  Valid certificate for competence of the skipper.  Valid IRC certificate for 2014–for all the boats in class IRC.  Personal insurance is mandatory for the entire crew - minimum limit 1 000 euro per person.  3rd Parties Liability insurance - minimum limit 10 000 euro.

5. ENTRY FORM

Preliminary application forms will be accepted from 15th of July 2016 until 20.00h on 10th of August 2016 on the e-mail address of the Organizer – corcaroli@bg-sail .org

Registration will be made from 10.00 h to 20.00 h on 11th of August 2016 at the race office.

Late registration – 07.00 – 08.30 am on 12th of August 2016 with a fee of €25. Application forms are received by e-mail or in regatta office. They can be downloaded from the web-site www.corcaroli.com

6. RULES The regatta will be held in accordance with: - Racing Rules of Sailing of ISAF RRS 2013-2016. - International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. - The requirements of EAMA for Bulgaria for supply and equipment of the vessels. - The notice of race. - Rules of IRC 2016. - Sailing instructions.

7. ADVERTISING Advertising is permitted under the ISAF Code for Advertising, Provision 20 - Category "C". Yachts are required to display the advertising materials, provided by the Organizer (stickers for the hull and flags).

18.00 Prize giving and closing ceremony and cocktail party.

Note: The Distances can be changed by the Referee Committee depending on the weather conditions, which will be noted in the Sailing Instructions and during the Skippers Conference.

9. RANKING For Class IRC 1, Class IRC 2 and Class IRC 3 the final standings will be accomplished by corrected time (the elapsed time will be multiplied by the TCC for each IRC boat for class IRC) .The IRC Rules, Parts 1 and 2 shall apply for class IRC.

For Class Conrad 25R, Class Open with LOA up to 10 m and Class Open with LOA over 10 m ranking will be done in real time by the minimum point system according to the Rules 2013-2016 (RRS), Annex A.4. 9.1. The coefficients for the off-shore races will be announced at the technical conference.

9.2. Race officers can seal the engines of participants. A boat with damaged seal will be disqualified from the respective race.

10. AWARDS 10.1. Prizes will be awarded for every single race and for the final ranking. If only 4 yachts are participating in the class, therefore will be awarded only first and second place. 10.2. The” Blue ribbon of Cor Caroli”will be awarded to the boat that passed the quickest in real-time the three races. 10.5. For the yachts in IRC there will be an Overall Ranking

11. RESPONSIBILITY 11.1. All sailors participating in the regatta are entirely at their own risk and responsibility. For under aged sailorsthe responsible personis the skipper of the boat. 11.2. The Organizers and any person involved in the organization and conducting of the regatta will not bear any responsibility for any loss, damage, injury and / or death which may occur and to happen to a person or property, regardless of water or on shore, during and / or as a result of participation in the regatta. 11.3. The competitors are obliged to follow rules ISAF RRS 2013-2016, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. Competitors will bear full and sole responsibility for the seagoing qualities rigged sail (spars, rigging and sails), emergency and rescue equipment on boats, as well as training and skills of the crews. The skippers will bear full responsibility for behavior and dressing of their crews, representatives or guests. 12. COMPETITION GUIDELINES Sailing instructions will be given upon registration.

13. SOCIAL PROGRAM Social program will be given upon registration. All participants will be given T-shirtsand hats for each crew member. The same will be used as a pass for social activities. 14. COMMUNICATION All yachts must be equipped with VHF stations. During the regatta permanent connection will be maintained on channel 73. The presence of mobile phones on board on each boat is recommended. 15. SECURITY AWARENESS 15.1 All the boats are obligated to have engines in good working condition, working navigational lights, and to correspond with the requirements of Marine Administration for the respective itineraries of the regatta 15.2 For all the boats is mandatory to have the minimum required safety equipment listed in art. 3.9 of “The Rules of the Bulgarian Sail Federation for national championships and sailing regattas 2014”: - certified lifejackets (vests) with its own securing personal bond (rope or a belt around 0,8m long with a carbineer) - Lifeline – VHF connection incl. a mobile one(if there is not a fixed one), lights, signal rockets as requested and first aid kit 15.3 If required by the Regatta Committee (a measurer or inspector), the yacht could be inspected for the presence of the above mentioned items 15.4. The Skippers of the participating boats has to sign a declaration for the existence of the safety equipment noted in art. 15 in the current notice 16. MOORING Mooring of boats in all ports during the regatta is free of charge. Mooring near Passenger Terminal Station - Varna is free from14.08.2013to18.08.2013.

17. TV AND MEDIA By submitting the application form, all entrants grant the organizers the rights to capture, display, store and distribute all films and photographs, photos etc, including the digital media captured during the event and include images of the competitors and / or boats.
