2015 BIG KAHUNA’s TEAM CHALLENGE SPONSORED by STORM TOURNAMENT RULES The BIG KAHUNA’s TEAM CHALLENGE (BK Team Challenge) is classified as mixed competition, open to men and women.

All entrants must hold a current USBC membership card (2014-15) or they may purchase a membership card for $20.00. ALL BOWLERS MUST SHOW THEIR CURRENT USBC MEMBERSHIP CARD (2014-15) OR RECEIPT OF PAYMENT TOURNAMENT SITE: SOUTH POINT NEW BOWLING ARENA TOURNAMENT DATES: FEBURARY 2 (MONDAY) & FEBRUARY 3 (TUESDAY) TIME: NOON BOTH DAYS, CHECK IN 11:00 AM (1 HOUR PRIOR) EVENT PARTICIPATION

1. Entry fee is $70.00 PER BOWLER, $280 PER TEAM

2. Each participant shall bowl four (4) games each day for a total of eight (8) games. Teams will consist of four (4) members comprising any combination of all men, all women or mixed. Men and women will compete on an equal basis.

TEAM AVERAGE CAP IS: 800 HANDICAP IS: 100% of 200

Professional bowlers, identified shall be permitted to bowl the BK Team Challenge as follows: A) Not more than one professional bowler in a four-player lineup. B) Professional bowlers MUST identify themselves at the time of registration. D) In the event a professional bowler does not provide proper identification prior to bowling, they will be disqualified from that event.

PRIZE AWARDS

3. Day 1: 1st place receives STORM 2 ball tote bag. Cash prizes 1:10 ratio Day 2: 1st place receives STORM 2 ball tote bag. Cash prizes 1:10 ratio TWO (2) DAY OVERALL CHAMPIONS 1st place receives STORM BOWLING BALLS (to be identified at BK Team Challenge) Cash prizes based on 1:10 entries (ie. 50 team entries (5 places) INDIVIDUAL EIGHT (8) GAME TOTAL receive cash prizes 1:10 ratio (HDCP & Scratch)

4. Prizes will be distributed at the completion of BK Team Challenge. A tie in any position will result in the sum of the prizes being aggregated for the tied positions and divided equally by the number of ties for that placing.

AVERAGES 5. HIGHEST AVERAGE WILL BE USED. “NO EXCEPTIONS”.  USBC Bowl.com average. (2012-2013 or 2013-2014) or USBC Bowl.com COMPOSITE average (2012-2013 or 2013-2014)  If no current USBC Bowl.com average use highest sanctioned average of 21 games or more as of December 31, 2014

USBC Rule #319 applies in its entirety.  All others will enter at 180 for WOMEN, 200 for MEN scratch average. Refer to USBC Rule #319b.  The handicap for the BK Team Challenge shall be based on 100% of the difference between the bowler’s entering average (as determined above) and a scratch score of 200. (Negative handicap will NOT be used)

6. SPORT BOWLING: USBC Rule #205 will be applied. A bowler must submit and use their adjusted Sport Bowling League average using the USBC Average Adjustment Scale (Rule #203) if this average is higher than their standard league average. Non-compliance may cause disqualification. 7. The average of any bowler may be adjusted at the discretion of the Tournament Director(s). Any average adjustment must be made before the completion of the entrant’s first game of competition. 8. All claims of error must be submitted, in writing, to the Tournament Director(s) within one (1) hour after the bowler or team has bowled. In matters of dispute, the decision(s) of the Director(s) will be final, unless an appeal is made in accordance with UBSC Rule #329

SUBSTITUTES AND ATTENDANCE 9. It is solely and entirely the bowler’s responsibility to be present at the assigned lanes at the time of bowling. Each bowler shall have the total responsibility to arrive in time to bowl.

10. Substitutes are able to bowl with the Director(s) approval. Substitutes must register at least one (1) hour before the start of competition and must bowl in the same line-up position as the bowler they are replacing.

11. There will be NO REFUNDS after acceptance of an entry by the BK Team Challenge committee.

ENTRY FORM 12. Entries must be accompanied by full amount of fees in the form of personal, certified checks or money orders payable to “BK Team Challenge”. Entries must be POST MARKED by December 31 2014. (MIDNIGHT) Personal, certified checks, or money orders will NOT be accepted after December 31, 2014 There will be a $25.00 charge for returned checks

ENTRIES CLOSE December 31, 2014 and WILL NOT be accepted after that date.

RESPONSIBILITY It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his/her average, whether originally submitted by the bowler, his team captain or others. Failure to use the proper average or make a correction prior to completion of first game shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than actual average, or prize winnings shall be based on submitted average if it is higher. (Rule 319a-3) Bowlers who have qualified for a prize of $600.00 or more in a tournament within the previous 12 month period must report before participating.

Any bowler who reports a lower average than required or who fails to report a prize of $600.00 or more in the previous 12 months shall forfeit tournament entry fees and prize winnings (Rule 319d).

No entrant shall change his/her position in any line up after acceptance of entry.
