1. President’s Report – Nelson Park:

 San Antonio Overview - Nelson said San Antonio was great. All of us from the BOD saw Forum differently, in preparation for 2012 in Seattle. Nelson, Karen and Heidi worked with the Local Chapter and sat in on debriefing meetings of their Forum. Debbie from the Local Chapter will help us further if needed.  Website Enhancements – Nelson asked if anyone could attend this year’s Training on Chapter Website Enhancements. It will be a 1-day Training in Florida. Karen may attend; she will follow-up with Mike with Chapter Manager.  Facebook Account - Nelson asked if Sue could add this to our Chapter Site or sign the Chapter up for a Facebook Account. Sue will work on doing this. This will help us get the word out and plan/organize for 2012 Forum.  2012 Sub-Committees – Karen and Heidi will be holding monthly meetings starting in September for kickoff of planning/organizing for 2012 Forum. We will need a Volunteer Chair to organize members/volunteers. Nelson also needs to send our estimated expenses per Attendee for the 2012 Chapter Event to Carrie Rawn within 6 weeks.  Reverse Trade Show – viability of providing good Forum for Members, along with Training courses for revenues.  Next Year’s Forum is in Maryland. It would be good to have whole Board attend.  Nominations for 2011 Chapter Board – let Nelson know if you want to continue in your Board position, or if you will be stepping down.  Linda will write an article on ST’s Award of NIGP OA4 Award and send to Nelson to email/broadcast to the Membership. . 2. Vice President’s Report – Alyce Benge:  No new Members.  No Scholarships.  Working on getting together the Honors and Awards for 2010 year.

3. Recording Secretary’s Report – Linda Winter  WA Chapter Board Meeting Minutes of July 2010 were submitted for approval. After a vote, the July 2010 Chapter Board Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved. Linda will post to the website.

4. Treasurer’s Report – Ken Matthews:  July 2010 Treasurer’s Report – Approved by the Board; Ken will post to website.  Over $1200 received in Renewals in August alone. Will be paying some expenses from Forum after receipt.

5. Membership Secretary’s Report – Cynthia Shaw  No Report as Cynthia not in attendance today.

6. Past President Report: Karen Fitzthum:  Karen will talk with Mike about attending Chapter Manager training.  Karen and Heidi will start having regular 2012 Forum Meetings beginning in Sept.  Will report to the Chapter Board during regular monthly BOD Meetings.  Karen said they received great information from the Texas Chapter. Gave Carrie a rough, high estimate of $200/person for 2012 in Seattle.

7. Committee Reports  Education and Research Committee – Heidi Bohl: - Heidi thanked Dave Davis, who will teach a class on Marketing/the Value of Public Procurement in September; this class will be held in Tacoma. Also, Oct 4 and 5 is the CPPB Preparation Class in the GA Building in Olympia. The November class will be an Introduction to Public Procurement at the City Hall building in Bellevue, WA. Heidi stated that all of the venues for these classes are free of charge.

 Public Relations and Marketing Committee - Sue Ownby: - Sue is doing regular upkeep of website. She would like a write-up and pictures on Forum so she can post to the website. Karen will send her same. WA State NIGP Chapter Board Meeting Minutes August 25, 2010 Meeting Page 3

- Sue also said that Cynthia can ask for a Booklet from Forum that she can hand out or send out for Student Membership.

8. National Updates: Dave Davis: Dave said that it was a nice Forum. And although not all the numbers are in, there may be some money still needed to pay for rooms not rented at the Hilton, if we didn’t meet the number of rooms reserved. The Fall National BOD Meeting is in Louisville, Kentucky this year in honor of that Chapter’s 25th Anniversary.
