PCR Making Period 1

PCR Making Period 1

Assignment: Your group will present a movie pitch for your assigned book. You must work together to create a wonderful presentation to the “movie producers” in the hopes of having your assigned book made into a successful movie.

Each member of your group must do the following:

1. Choose a task from the task list and complete it. - 10 points

2. Create a google slide presentation of your task - 10 points

3. Present your task to the class. - 10 points

Remember: Although the parts of the presentation are individual, you are working as a team to present. Your presentation score will be partially based on how well your group performs as a whole. Your job is to not only make it clear that you read the book, but also that you were a good team member.

If you do not have enough members in your groups to have just one task for each person, choose the tasks you want to complete.

Tasks:

● Create the cast list: You will cast this movie. Create a list of the central five characters who will be included in this movie. Write a two sentence description of the character’s personality. You will then cast real actors/actresses for each role. You will provide a two sentence rationale for each actor/actress selection. (Yes, that means a paragraph for each character). ● Create the movie advertisement: You will create a visual depiction of the advertisement for the movie adaptation of your book. You may create a poster, a movie trailer, etc… You will also include a one page rationale to explain the choices you made in creating the advertisement and how it relates to the book. ● Write a synopsis of screenplay: You will write a one page synopsis of the screenplay of your book. This is essentially a summary of the movie version of your book. You must include in your synopsis: o Events, characters, or settings you deleted from the book ▪ Rationale for every change you made o Events, characters, or settings you added to the book ▪ Rationale for every addition you have made ● Create a story board to depict scenes/setting: You will create a visual “story board” to illustrate the 5 most important scenes/settings in your book. For each picture you will provide a one paragraph rationale explaining the choices you made in the setting and how it relates to the book. ● Create the thematic “PREMIERE” party: You are planning a party! You must write down all the elements that will be needed for a successful movie premiere party for your book. This premiere is a “THEMED” party, so every aspect of the party must be related to the themes/ motifs/symbols found in your book. You must write down the attire for the party, the food people will eat, the kinds of party favors guests will receive, the venue for the party, and venue decorations. You will also provide a rationale for every decision you make for this party. For your presentation, you may bring in props, posters, etc.. This document should be approximately two pages long.

**For every aspect of this project that you are writing, the written portion must be typed, doubled spaced, and checked for MLA formatting standards. **This a fun project that assesses your understanding of your PCR Book. Your presentation will be as great as the work you put into it! Be creative! **While this is a group presentation, you will be assessed on your individual work for the presentations as well as how well your group works and presents together. Be sure to read the book and fulfill your specific tasks. Do not let your group down! **HAVE FUN!

All groups must be prepared to present on day one of presentations, as presentation order will be chosen randomly. Please SHARE your google slides with your teacher before presentation day. Put your name in the document name.
