ANDERSON COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL SBDM COUNCIL MINUTES Monday August 6, 2012 3:30 PM

The August 6th meeting of the ACMS SBDM Council was called to order by Ms.Gina Fultz at 3:30 pm in the school library. In attendance were: Gina Fultz, Leslie Edmondson, Merideth Pittman, Rob Ginter and Bart Lewis. Marla Swartz was absent.

First order of business: Review and approval of the agenda for the August 6th, 2012 meeting and the June 12th, 2012 Minutes. After review of same, a motion was made by Bart Lewis, seconded by Gina Fultz to approve.

Second order of business: Review of the July 2012 financial reports.

Third order of business: Chair and Vice-Chair Appointment - Mrs. Gina Fultz, Principal, serves as chair. - Bart Lewis nominated Leslie Edmondson to serve as Vice-Chair, Merideth Pittman seconded.

Fourth order of business: Approval of 2012-2013 SBDM Council Meeting Dates - Motion made by Leslie Edmondson, seconded by Bart Lewis to schedule meetings for the second Monday of each month.

Fifth order of business: Review the approved 2012-2013 SBDM Budget

Sixth Order of Business: Dress Code Discussion - Dress code has improved and will stay as written in policy.

Seventh Order of Business: Principals Report - New Hires: Dustin McClain (French) Elizabeth Swartz (Spanish) Shane Kirby (8th grade Science) Jimmy Rapp (7th grade Science) Tom Cannon (8th grade Math) Meredith Goins (Chorus Director) Katy Perkins (Counselor) - Master Schedule Changes: Addition of French and Spanish classes to schedule; Council approved. - School Wide Fundraiser: Same fundraiser as years past, however, the company has changed their name from QSP to Great American Opportunities. Council decided that funds raised this year shall be used for student incentives and towards student technology.

Other business: Bart Lewis notified the council that he has been approached by several parents of home-schooled children regarding athletic participation.

With no further business a motion to dismiss the August 6th meeting was made by Rob Ginter, seconded by Leslie Edmondson to adjourn. The next meeting of the ACMS SBDM Council will be September 10th, 2012 at 3:30 pm in the school library.
