Coding in Stage 4 TAS
The Coding in Stage 4 course is intended for TAS teachers with little or no coding experience.
It focuses on developing the knowledge and skills of coding required for the Crack the Code unit of work. The Crack the Code unit of work was developed in preparation for the new Technology Mandatory syllabus that will be released by NESA in 2017.
By participating in the course, teachers will gain: the background information needed to give relevance of coding to students an understanding of different inputs and outputs and how they can be used in control systems a basic understanding of digital systems and binary skills in manipulating code to achieve a desired outcome a basic understanding of electronic circuits used with control systems experience in troubleshooting code and electronics.
There will be four workshops in the first round of events. More workshops are planned for Term 2. Round 1 workshops
• Friday 24 March 2017 in Redfern (enrolment closes 20 March 2017)
• Monday 27 March 2017 in Redfern (enrolment closes 20 March 2017)
• Tuesday 4 April 2017 in Tamworth (enrolment closes 28 March 2017)
• Thursday 6 April in Wagga Wagga (enrolment closes 28 March 2017)
Each workshop is limited to 20 participants
Completing this course will contribute 6 hours of QTC Registered PD across standards 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
Course participants receive an Arduino clone and MAAS ThinkerShield.
