Atlantian Letter of Decision, June, 2013 Dame Hróðný Rognvaldsdóttir, Golden Dolphin Herald of Atlantia, sends humble greetings to her fellow heralds. Arthur of Linden - New Name & New Device Argent, a brown bear proper dormant between four linden leaves vert.

Consulting Herald: Maven Whitlocke This is a resubmission after the Atlantian December 2012 pend of the name "Arthur of Linden" for re-working the name since the elements "Arthur" and "of Linden" as documented could not be reconciled as being compatible to the guidelines in SENA for regional naming groups and their mixes (http://heraldry.sca.org/sena.html#AppendixC). There were suggestions for dealing with this but it being the holidays, we were unable to reach Arthur in time to learn his preferences. Therefore his device "Argent, a brown bear proper dormant between four Linden leaves vert" was also pended. The consulting herald has found a Dutch village named “Linden”, so citing the Lingua Anglica rule, we are sending this to Laurel.

Consulting Herald: Sara van Eerde, Cornet Originally submitted as “Ragna Vallaspakr”, Mistress Gunnvor, Orle Herald, corrected the Old Norse construction and the submitter was delighted with the new form, giving verbal permission to Golden Dolphin or the change on June 7, 2013.

Consulting Herald: Ealasaid MacDonald, Pursuivant Extraordinary This is a resubmission of the device "Per bend sinister sable and argent, a mullet Or and a nettle leaf vert." returned by Laurel in May, 2012; "This device is returned for redraw, for violating section VII.7.a of the Rules for Submissions which requires that "Elements must be recognizable solely from their appearance." This ruling is repeated in section A2C2 of the Standards for Evaluation, which says "Elements must be drawn to be identifiable." Commenters confused the nettle leaf here with a flame. If it is redrawn with a stem and perhaps some internal vein details, it would probably be identifiable as a leaf."

Windmasters' Hill, Barony of - Resub Order Name: Award of the Torteau This is a resubmission following the Laurel November, 2007 return of "Order name Award of the Scirocco". Dragos Potcoava - New Device Azure, a horseshoe inverted Or maintaining within its arch a dragon displayed argent, on a chief Or, two rapier swords in saltaire azure. Consulting Herald: Isabella Delfino, Sable Trident Pursuivant This is being returned for re-working. The dragon is neither secondary nor co-primary with the horseshoe –neither is it maintained or sustained. This creates a charge group problem. In addition, the rayonny line should have fewer and larger rays, which would force the shrinking of the horseshoe anyway. We suggest that the next submission have the entirety of the rapiers coloured in as azure (leaving out the white bits), though the tincture of the argent portion is probably small enough to avoid any contrast issues with the Or chief.
