September Minutes The regular meeting of the Mahaska Masters 4-H Club was held at the First Christian Church on September 14, 2009. There was no recreation. Hosts were Jenna and Jamie Stewart. The meeting was called to order by Vice-President, Megan Adams. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Nicole Presley. Guests were: Kendall Ver Beek, Lydia Denniston, David Anderson, Felicity Briggs, and Alexis Baker. Roll call, “What is your favorite home cooked meal?” was answered by 24 members, 5 visitors, and 5 leaders. The minutes were read by Nicole McCrea and approved. There was no correspondence. Jackie Veenstra read the treasurer’s report. Diane Stewart presented 3 bills. Nicole McCrea talked about Teen Council and Lisa Wanders talked about the club record book turn-in on September 10th. The club talked about the pizza party and decided to have it during December. The club also discussed wherever or not to pay a third of the 4-H membership fee. Skyler DeJong moved to have the club pay one third of the cost and Leah Van Maanen seconded. A club social will now take place at Autumn Acres on September 25, 2009. Skyler DeJong moved that the club members and families can come anytime between 4:00 and the time it closes, Gerrit Van Maanen seconded. The club moved to serve the Farm Bureau Dinner which Dana Van Renterghem moved and Gillian Gross seconded. The club talked about different ways to promote 4-H during 4-H week. A list was made for those interested in recording PSA’s at KBOE and CRI. There were sign up sheets for food and decorations for the Farm Bureau Dinner, and it announced that help will be needed at the dinner on Thursday, November 12th @ 6:30. Ryan Smithart read the announcements. The Leaders report was read by Diane Stewart. Dana VanRenterghem moved to adjourn the meeting and Sam Adams seconded. After the meeting, the installation of officers followed. Our next meeting will be on Monday, October 12 at the First Christian Church, at 7:00 p.m. Reporter, Rachel Adams
