Melbourne ↔ Adelaide Touring Route is the scenic route between Melbourne and Adelaide that takes in some of Australia’s best beaches, greenest forests, most amazing marine parks and dramatic cliffscapes.

Key objectives for the Melbourne ↔ Adelaide Touring Route are to promote awareness of the route and to develop its business potential with a focus on visitor numbers, length of stay and yield (spend).

The route has a number of attractions with particular appeal for travellers looking for a specific type or types of holiday. To help travellers get the most out of their Melbourne to Adelaide journey, we are creating an initial series of four themed itineraries. They will focus on: 1. Food and wine experiences

2. Adventure

3. Nature and wildlife experiences

4. Family

These itineraries will be available to consumers and trade as downloadable PDFs. Once the dynamic itinerary builder is activated, the itineraries will be available to book online, where online booking is available.

We seek your input to ensure these itineraries offer a level of information beyond what’s already out there. They will be comprehensive and compelling. Please think about the experiences and activities which you recommend to your visitors – they might be in your town or on route to their next overnight location.

For families, this might be an adventure playground with specific appeal to older children, or a dedicated cycling trail which is particularly safe for families with younger children. For foodies, it may be the road side stalls selling fresh produce, a farm where you can pick your own or a restaurant specialising in regional produce. In addition, please consider points of interest along the extended sections of the touring route, e.g. Kingston S.E. to Meningie or Naracoorte to Keith then Coonalpyn. Tell us about the little known lookouts, walking trails or other points of interest which break up these sections of the journey. Suggestions for themed itineraries www.melbournetoadelaide.com.au
