ANNOUNCEMENTS/TRAININGS: -Governors Conference February 23 – 25th, 2010 Cheyenne Mt. Resort -HLS Coordinator meeting and CPAC January 27th, 2010 -Colorado Safe Schools Training February 25th – 26th, 2010 in Thornton -Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Training January 26-28th, 2010 in Fort Collins or February 17 -19th in Colorado Springs -1st and 2nd Saturday of each month the Red Cross holds CPR and First Aid Classes $55.00 includes classroom time, hands on training and your books -RETAC meeting on January 21st, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Monte Vista Ambulance Barn -ICS 300 February 9 -10, 2010 Colorado Springs Fire Department Complex -Colorado Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps Webinar on February 2nd, 2010

MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS COORDINATOR REPORT December Activities:  Participated in the State MRC conference call  Attended via conference call CPAC (State Citizen Corps Council) meeting  Collected documentation of State MRC deliverables & submitted to CDPHE for reimbursement  Completed Citizen Ready paperwork and submitted to AMA  Updated National MRC website information for SLV unit  Reviewed two FEMA webinar presentations – one on Citizen Corps Volunteer Liability and the other on Resolve to Be Ready—these are available for review at www.citizencorps.gov/news/webcasts.shtm January Goals:  Attend Fit Test Training  Attend Exercise Design Team meeting  Prepare and submit Citizen Corps Quarterly Reports  Attend RETAC meeting  Attend All Hazards Meeting  Attend HLS and CPAC meetings in Denver  Research and order promotional items for 2010 Health Fairs  Schedule Spring CERT training class  Start working on Neighborhood Watch programs in SLV OLD BUSINESS -CVM alerts and responses – we currently have 36 MRC members in the CVM database. Continue to work with the state to assure information is accurate in the database. MRC members can be sent alerts through CVM as needed. Either Sue or Beth can do this. -To register in the CVM (Colorado Volunteer Mobilizer) system or check your account by visiting https://covolunteers.state.co.us/ -MRC member training requirements are completion of ICS 100 and NIMS 700 classes. Please send copies of your certificates to Sue in order to be approved in the CVM system. -Linda Brown and David Osborn provided an update on the H1N1 situation currently in the SLV Region. -Rio Grande County Public Health Agency doing another H1N1 clinic in South Fork at the community center on January 21st, 2010 from noon till 2:00 PM. Had a previous clinic in Monte Vista on January 7, 2010

NEW BUSINESS -Sue presented information and materials received at the state MRC meeting: -Koral O’Brien has been appointed administrator of the CVM system -Information on Force Protection and a notebook is available -Our MRC unit received an Emergency Backpack completely equipped with the exception of an AED. We hope to receive the AED in 2010 from the state organization. -discussion was held on individual MRC units creating and signing an MOU with each county Emergency Manager. We will follow up on this. -COPIC insurance information for physicians when they are volunteering was distributed -FEMA certificate information for obtaining ICS 100 and 700 certificates from the website was given out. -Curt Drennan, Behavioral Health Disaster Coordinator, gave presentation at the state meeting. -State MRC organization has a trailer and tent to be used as promotional/recruitment for MRC. State members will be traveling around the state this summer attending fairs and events to assist local units in recruitment -A drop box account has been created by Koral for the MRC units -Discussion was held on stress; our own Dave Hayden spoke about Behavioral Health Intervention for first responders, peer support model and CISM model. Debriefing teams from mental health are available for schools. Mental Health also has an Emergency Services Team. MRC Website at www.slvcitizencorps.org and click on the MRC link
