The iLearn project intends to help students master the math curriculum trough the use of iPads. I am looking forward to the use of technology to improve student enthusiasm, achievement and preparation, not only for the end of course exams, but for their futures. Since many of our students are already comfortable with social networking and using the Internet, and I have noticed that any use of these tools generates excitement and enthusiasm, the use of iPads in the classroom seems a feasible way to engage them in the learning process. Many of our students are lacking strong bases and basic math facts to succeed in high school math classes; with the use of iPad applications, they may practice and master such objectives. Ipads will allow student interaction and participation when students use free web 2.0 tools such as Prezi, Wordle, Glogster, and Edmodo. The iPads will serve so students connect to internet to research and use programs like Blackboard and access wikis. iPads will also be beneficial to students since they may access web pages such as Khan Academy and look for tutorials in case they have any questions. Any students who are not comfortably using current technologies will be given as much practice as possible. I personally think that we should be teaching students to use technological tools in order for them to be productive and to acquire 21st Century skills.
