From the 2013 Clear Creek High School Wildcat Football Booster Club

Howdy to the Clear Creek Wildcat nation!

The 2012 season was a great success by our football team and coaches! And this coming season holds promise of building upon last year’s success! With 8 of our season games played at District Stadium, we will have a great season of talented Texas football each weekend.

The Wildcat Football Booster Club had similar success in 2012 with growing the number of members and increasing the amount of funds donated to the football program and for scholarships. Under the great leadership of Randy and Helen Becker, the Club raised over $49,000 dollars through fund raisers, advertising, donations, merchandise, and memberships. The Club’s expenses were $33,000 for materials, programs, equipment, special events and merchandise. This resulted in the ability to fund two $1,000 scholarships for graduating seniors, and to provide $14,000 to the Wildcat Football team.

All of the funds provided to the football team are for the safety and success of the players. This coming season, Coach Warden expects expenses for the following items:

- Replace at least 10% of helmets at $200-250 each approx. $7,000

- Replace shoulder pads approx. $8,000

- Annual weight room equipment and maintenance costs approx. $6,000

- Home uniforms replacement approx. $7,000

- Replace the coaches headphones $6,000

The football program has received up to $17,000 from CCISD for these costs and the remainder is made up with proceeds from the annual Wildcat Card sales and Club fundraising. The district budget is under pressure due to the economy and is uncertain if the amount will stay the same. In addition, the current Freshman class and next year’s Freshman class are larger than the past few years meaning more players, and more equipment needs, and more wear and tear on facilities and gear.

Our 2013 Club goal is to increase the amount of funds for the football program to $40,000. We will achieve this goal though doubling our Club membership from 77 to 150 and expanding our local coordination with businesses and parents. And WE NEED YOUR INVOLVEMENT!

The following Club committees (and sub areas) need your time and talent:

Membership: Develop and grow our club

Fundraising: - Merchandise: Plan, procure, and sell the items throughout the season. - Concessions for Sub Varsity and Freshman home games: Organize and run our concessions efforts for home games

- Raffle: Secure sponsor and organize sales of the Raffle tickets

- Game Program Advertising : Secure sales of advertising to raise funds for the club

- Car Wash: Organize the pre-season event

- Silent Auction (Banquet night): Arrange for sponsors to donate items for end of year fund raiser

Communications: - Website – Keep the website up to date on team information - Emails – Keep the information flowing! - Newspaper – Coordinate local area reports on the Wildcats - Facebook – Coach Head has been leading this effort of keeping this page up to date

Special Events: - Spring Game: Plan and support the community involvement when the team has its final spring practice/scrimmage - Parent night with Coach Warden: Support the set-up of this mandatory parent-coach meeting - Meet the Wildcats: Plan and host the pre-season gathering of players, coaches, and community to send off the team into the season

- Senior Night: Organize the plans for recognizing our Senior football players and parents

- Homecoming: Organize the details for a great night of football

- End of Season Banquet: Plan and conduct the dinner for the team at the end of the season

With increased support, these tasks will be much easier to complete and reach our goals for program fundraising.

And – we have a special opportunity: The old inflatable helmet is beyond repair and we are seeking parties interested in underwriting the cost of a new inflatable. We are open to naming rights or special promotion privileges as we seek to replace the helmet with a mascot shaped run-through. Please contact the Club leadership for more information.

We have a great program, a great team, and the best community anywhere!

I look forward to you joining the Booster Club, getting involved, and enjoying the Friday nights this coming fall.
