Design Features Are Outlined Below with Their Corresponding Lesson Location

AP US History

AP US History is a two semester course with 101 total lessons and 76 graded assignments. The course motif is that of a news magazine, US History, AP, where students “work” as a historical researcher while being trained to move into a permanent position as a staff writer. Students are exposed to real life skills, while also preparing to take the AP Exam. Step-by- step they are instructed on the intricate details of writing the AP US History essays. The Cornell Note taking method is taught and used throughout the course. Instructional interactives are heavily used in this course.

Because this is an AP course, teachers are expected to be AP trained and aware of the exam requirements prior to instruction. Answer keys will give some recommendations for grading, but much of what is expected relies on teacher knowledge of AP appropriate responses. Successful teachers often create supplemental activities and are involved with the instruction and test preparation for all students.

of 8 AP Reviews Abridged Registration

 The Abridged Registration process is used by out of state students who are currently enrolled in a licensed FLVS course(s) through Global Services.  FLVS has 10 AP Test Reviews. However, FLVS only has AP courses for 9 of the 10 AP Test Reviews.

 The AP Test Reviews are included as part of what the client licenses when they license one of these 9 AP courses.

 There is no visible link from the AP Review application to get to an abridged registration page. The way to access a specific course abridged registration form is by clicking on one of the links below:

Note: The numbers at the end of the links will not need to be changed with course version changes.

 The above links are manually added to the Course Information folder of each client AP course by our client support representatives. The client receives an email from our support representatives with this information and directions when they license the AP course.  For students to access the AP test review content, the students were directed to do the following: Go to the Course Information section of the course to the URL registration link (each student must do this)  The URL link within the course is specific for the course. The 4 digit number at the end of the URL is a code for the specific course and registers the student for that AP Test Review. This is a brief and simple registration. AP US History

STEPS FOR REGISTERING IN THE ABRIDGED REGISTRATION PROCESS

STEP 1: Student is asked to enter his/her First name, Last name, email address and Birth date.

STEP 2: Student is asked to fill in the remaining fields of School Information.

 Student should select his/her State, District and School Name.

of 8 STEP 3: Click Finish to complete the Abridged Registration

 Students do not get prompted for any type of payment for the AP Reviews in the Abridged Registration process. Remember, the AP Reviews come as part of what a client licenses when they purchase an FLVS AP course license. AP US History

 Students receive a registration confirmation screen and an email with a username and password. After the student is registered in the system, access to the AP Test Review is from the URL link provided within the online AP course.

If a student has another AP Course Review to take, they will be directed to the registration link again in the course information area.

 Select Next  Student receives a message, “The First Name, Last Name, Email, and Date of Birth information is already associated with an AP Review user. The selected course has been added to this user's list of available courses.

Please log in to your account to access the new course, or you may press the Back and enter new information to create a new user.”  Student needs to use their same username and password from the first course. If they have forgotten their password they can use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page.

 If the student uses a new email address, they will complete the registration as a first-time user and create a new account for that course.
