VENDOR: Information in purple, blue and red is not part of the Closed Captioning

Work Background: [Music] Standby for intercept…launch, round away. [Music] (VENDOR: here, [Music] replaces [I/A])

Male I: In the ranges, we are getting to test the most sophisticated weapon systems in the world.

Male II: New engineers coming into the field are given an opportunity that they might not otherwise get outside. It’s an opportunity that a new engineer can come in and work on some of the largest programs.

Male III: The biggest thing for me is the challenging technical work, first. So, I get satisfaction from the work that I do.

Female I: I decided to join NAVAIR because it seemed like it was going to be a bigger challenge, um…than anything I’d seen before.

Female II: People that aren’t familiar with this world, don’t realize what a phenomenal success it is when a test comes together and gets accomplished.

Male IV: But to actually go into the control room and see that, uh…system work the way it’s supposed to work is just about the neatest thing you can do.

Male V: We’re really flying. We’re really testing the whole full-up weapon system.

Female III: It’s not like when you’re at school and you write…an erroneous program. You actually get to see what your work’s doing.

Male VI: You get the opportunity, unlike a lot of organizations, to see that purpose met almost virtually every day.

Male VII: This is my way of contributing and putting my effort into…my country.

Female IV: You’ll have a greater visibility of how you’re supporting the war fighter.

Male VIII: I was able to go actually see the aircraft that I was working on and see where the part that I was making was going to fit.

Female V: On my first week here, I was sitting beside an EP-3 aircraft conducting a test. I mean, I could literally reach out and touch it.

Female VI: I’ve actually got to drive a tank. My kid just couldn’t believe that I was driving a tank. NAVAIR “Let’s Get to Work: Employment Opportunities” NVA10911

Male IX: My favorite story around here is that we get to blow things up and we get paid to do it.

Female VII: I mean, where can you go where it’s legal for you to actually set something on fire and watch it throw stuff everywhere?

Female VIII: Where else can you go work and be responsible for buying aircraft? F-18 fighters! You can’t do that anywhere else except working for…for NAVAIR.

Male IX: I think the type of work we’re doing here at NAVAIR is very important, okay? It’s very interesting, it’s very high-tech, it’s fast-paced, uh…you get to meet a lot of really interesting people.

Male IX: Recently did an event where we had the, uh…Spanish, the Portuguese, and the U.S. Navy on the range at the same time.

Female IX: Chance to interact with, um…our NATO nations.

Female X: Today, I was thinking…I was on the phone with Homeland Security. I was on the phone with the FAA.

Female XI: They have the opportunity to work with world-renowned experts to contribute to the greater good.

Male X: You never have to question if your work makes a difference.

Male XI: I think we all come in the morning wanting to do something good, but to honestly leave at night and say, “I actually made a difference today.” Nothing better than that and I don’t see that going away. That’s…that’s just the way this place is and that’s the big difference between us and many of the big companies.

Male XII: You directly work with the service men and women in the field and what you do can directly impact their daily lives and their operations out there.

Male XIII: I go home tired at the end of every day but I feel like I did something relevant and I can tell you I did something fun.
