CII’s Online Instructional Support Services division at Tarleton supports over 6000 students and over 400 faculty/staff teaching a total of approximately 1500 sections of online and hybrid courses each semester in Blackboard.

Customer Service is paramount in the support of Tarleton’s Online Instructional Tools - Blackboard, Chalk & Wire, and Centra. Our Support Desk handles calls, emails, and walk-ins regarding the following:  Technical Issues with Blackboard  Password Assistance with Blackboard  Faculty Repository Account Creation  Online Component Requests  How Do I... Questions  Turnitin.com Questions  Respondus Questions  Centra Questions  Chalk & Wire Questions  Testbank Imports  Multi-Media/Video Creation and Streaming  Course Migrations

We are currently looking for a student worker technician who is organized, has tremendous initiative, and can easily help others with technical problems. The applicant selected for this position will need to possess outstanding communication skills, high initiative and excellent organizational skills. Furthermore, he or she will need to be able to work both independently and as a team player and be exceptionally reliable. An aptitude for troubleshooting computer related problems is also preferred. We will provide training as necessary. The student must be able to work during our Support hours, which are: Monday – Thursday of 8:00am – 10:00pm; Friday 8:00am – 8:00pm; Saturday & Sunday – 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Job Duties Include:

 Providing call, email, remote desktop, and walk-in technical support to students & faculty using Blackboard, Chalk & Wire, and Centra Systems  Maintain daily log of assistance provided by the helpdesk to faculty and students.  Completing testbank requests for Faculty  Other duties as assigned by OISS Staff
