TITLE: Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: MPAAA Executive Director

SUMMARY: The MPAAA bookkeeper/administrative assistant is responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of the organization’s financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling statements; as well as, performing administrative and office support activities for the MPAAA Executive Director. Confidentiality and integrity of employee and member records required.

Duties include (but are not limited to): . Works closely with Executive Director and MPAAA Treasurer to ensure all accounts reconcile accurately – particularly credit card payments from third party systems. . Assists with basic bookkeeping responsibilities, including accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, according to prescribed methods outlined by the MPAAA Treasurer and Finance Committee . Maintains all accounting records according to prescribed methods outlined by the MPAAA Treasurer and Finance Committee . Prepares deposits and deliver to the bank . Under the supervision of the MPAAA Treasurer, prepares monthly financial statements for MPAAA Treasurer’s review prior to MPAAA board meetings . Provides member support in the absence of the Executive Director . As time allows, assists in coordinating materials for workshops, conferences and other activities for MPAAA . Assists in the updating of the website as directed by the MPAAA Executive Director or MPAAA Technology Liaison.

Qualifications: . High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates degree in accounting is preferred

. Three or more years of accounting office work experience (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, etc.)

. Office administrative support experience is preferred. . Strong organizational skills (oral and written) and the ability to excel at details, multi-tasking and working under pressure. . Must have experience and skill in the use of Microsoft Office, with emphasis in MS Word and Excel. . Experience with QuickBooks a plus

Terms: This is a part-time (approximately 16-20 hours per week) 46-week per year position.

Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour
