Famous American/Wax Musueum

Oral Presentations: May 27-30 Scenery Setup: Thursday, May 29

Wax Museum: Friday, May 30

For our 8th Annual Wax Museum, students will become famous Americans. Students will present information about their Famous American to their class and pose as a wax museum statue for the school. Famous American should be historical figures, like a president, inventor, hero, athlete, or a person who is a positive role model in our country.

Oral Presentation: You will need to present a 3-5 minute speech on your Famous American. Note cards should be used during the presentation. Costumes, movement, and animation will bring the person to life. The class will be taking notes on each presentation. Presentation information is due on Tuesday, May 27; all back boards are due on May 29, the day before the Wax Museum.

Student Presentations are as follows (Have your costume on your day): May 27 : Nyssa, Rebecca, Antwone, Quinn, Sivan, Ivan, Lydia May 28: Shyann, Bella, Fiona, Sammy, Jacey, Cameron, Sam May 29: Charlie, Andrew, Lara, Peyton, Savannah, Tia, Diana May 30: Conner, Brittney, Madylyn, Niq’hi, Devon, Liem, Jessie, Abby, Destine

 Major accomplishments; how this person has impacted others’ lives

 Interesting information, other facts, and famous quotes by this person

 If this person had not become famous, how would our lives be different?

 Why you selected this person

References You will need to read and locate information from sources such as: 1. Biography (I recommend an AR book that will satisfy your nightly reading) 2. Internet sources

Wax Museum Scenery Display You will have a 4-foot space to set up your display. Make sure your display is not over 4-feet wide. The board must be at least 46 inches wide. Two boards may be stacked on top of each other to make it taller, but it may not be wider than 4 feet. We suggest a self-standing three-way scenery board. (You will find these at Michaels or any craft store). You may use other items to enhance your scene. This is not a report or informative board!! This is a back drop that reflects your Famous American! Please try to find pieces of your costume in Second Hand Stores or in your big brothers/sisters closets. Mom and Dad’s are fine also. The scenery board is due Thursday, May 29. This is the day before the Wax Museum. You may bring boards before this date!
