Final: NEH 235 Hymns for 15 th November 2015

Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go Entrance: CH4 198 my daily labour to pursue; thee, only thee, resolved to know, Let us build a house where love can dwell in all I think, or speak, or do. and all can safely live, a place where saints and children tell The task thy wisdom hath assigned, how hearts learn to forgive. O let me cheerfully fulfill; Built of hopes and dreams and visions, in all my works thy presence find, Rock of faith and vault of grace; and prove thy good and perfect will. here Christ’s love shall end divisions; all are welcome in this place. Thee may I set at my right hand, whose eyes my inmost substance see: Let us build a house where prophets speak, and labour on at thy command, and words are strong and true, and offer all my works to thee. where all God's children dare to seek to dream God's reign anew. Give me to bear thy easy yoke, Here the cross shall stand as witness and every moment watch and pray; and a symbol of God's grace; and still to things eternal look, here we claim the faith of Jesus: and hasten to thy glorious Day. all are welcome in this place.

For thee delightfully employ Let us build a house where love is found whate'er thy bounteous grace hath given, in water, wine and wheat: and run my course with even joy a banquet hall on holy ground, and closely walk with thee to heaven. where peace and justice meet. Here the love of God, through Jesus, is revealed in time and space; as we share the feast that frees us: all are welcome in this place.

Gradual: NEH 461

There’s a wideness in God’s mercy, like the wideness of the sea; there’s a kindness in his justice, which is more than liberty. There is no place where earth’s sorrows are more felt than up in Evermore from his store heaven; new-born worlds rise and adore. there is no place where earth’s failings have such kindly judgment given.

For the love of God is broader than the measure of man’s mind; Daily doth th’Almighty Giver and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. bounteous gifts on us bestow; But we make his love too narrow by false limits of our own; His desire our soul delighteth, and we magnify his strictness with a zeal he will not own. pleasure leads us where we go. Love doth stand at his hand; There is plentiful redemption in the blood that has been shed; joy doth wait on his command. there is joy for all the members in the sorrows of the Head. There is grace enough for thousands of new worlds as great as this; Still from man to God eternal there is room for fresh creations in that upper home of bliss. sacrifice of praise be done. High above all praises praising If our love were but more simple, we should take him at His word; for the gift of Christ his Son. and our lives would be all gladness in the joy of Christ our Lord. Christ doth call one and all: ye who follow shall not fall.

Offertory: NEH 333 Communion: SOF 398 All my hope on God is founded; He doth still my trust renew. My Lord, what love is this Me through change and chance he guideth, that pays so dearly, only good and only true. that I, the guilty one, God unknown, He alone may go free! calls my heart to be his own. Amazing love, O what sacrifice, the Son of God giv’n for me Pride of man and earthly glory, my debt he pays, and my death he dies sword and crown betray his trust; that I might live, that I might live! what with care and toil he buildeth, tower and temple, fall to dust: And so they watched him die, but God’s power, hour by hour, despised, rejected; is my temple and my tower. but oh, the blood he shed flowed for me! God’s great goodness aye endureth, Amazing love… deep his wisdom, passing thought: splendour, light and life attend him, beauty springeth out of naught. And now this love of Christ shall flow like rivers; come wash your guilt away, live again! Amazing love…
