Race Horse Rider Replaced by Reason 9 Musique Player Ismail Toker Emergency gained a start
Daniel Ganderton provided a medical certificate clearing him to ride today.
RACE 1 – RAINE & HORNE SORELL 2YO HANDICAP – 900 METRES
Kyogle Son reared in the mounting yard and harmlessly dislodged Anthony Darmanin rider of the colt.
Gee Gee Double Dee shifted in abruptly at the start.
Gee Gee Royal Miss over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
Approaching the 600 metres It’s Overrated got its head up when being restrained off the heels of Kyogle Son (Anthony Darmanin) who shifted in slightly. Anthony Darmanin was notified that he must exercise sufficient care when in similar circumstances.
In the home straight, Kyogle Son displayed a tendency to lay in and then commenced to shift in under pressure approaching the 100 metres resulting in Anthony Darmanin, the rider of the colt, having to stop riding and straighten. Kyogle Son then continued to lay in for the remainder of the race.
Approaching the 50 metres Kyogle Son was taken out off its course when Gee Gee Pure Gold (Victor Wong) shifted to the outside of Gee Gee Royal Miss to obtain a run. Victor Wong was reminded of his obligation to ensure that he has a full run when in similar circumstances.
Jockey David Pires, the rider of It’s Overrated which performed below expectations today, explained that in his opinion the filly travelled well for the majority of the race despite racing greenly. A post-race veterinary inspection of It’s Overrated revealed the filly to have a skin contusion and swelling above its right knee.
Jockey Kim Moore, the rider of Roundhouse Miss which performed below expectations today, explained that she expected the filly to perform better today, however it failed to stretch out and felt short in its stride. A post-race veterinary inspection of Roundhouse Miss revealed the filly to have small skin abrasions inside its hind fetlocks.
RACE 2 – BROOKS LARK & CARRICK SURVEYORS 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE – DIVISION 1 - SET WEIGHTS – 1100 METRES
Faith In Georgina was slow to begin (1L).
Shortly after the start, Etown shifted out and contacted the hindquarters of Off The Grid resulting in that filly becoming unbalanced.
Shortly after this Etown had to be checked when tightened for room between Off The Grid and Geegee Hot Novel which shifted out. Turtles Nest was slow into stride.
Matter Of Time raced wide throughout.
Approaching the 200 metres, Off The Grid shifted in abruptly when under pressure. The filly then continued to lay in for a short distance.
RACE 3 – RAINE & HORNE COMMERCIAL 3YO & UPWARDS – DIVISION 2 – SET WEIGHTS – 1100 METRES
Visscher was slow to begin (2L).
Kissed By Fire jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, Only Kiss shifted out and inconvenienced Kissed By Fire.
Passing the 1000 metres Berry Wise Fox shifted out and contacted Buzzy Wuzzy Woo and became unbalanced.
Approaching the 800 metres Colonial Coaster shifted out to avoid the heels of Box Of Frogs when that gelding was being restrained.
Passing the 800 metres Deciding Clause was inconvenienced when Box Of Frogs shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Between the 700 and the 600 metres, Berry Wise Fox was held up.
Near the 400 metres, Kissed By Fire got its head up and was restrained when attempting a narrow run between Berry Wise Fox which shifted in away from Deciding Clause after that mare shifted in.
Anthony Darmanin, the rider of La Niella which had been racing forward, eased the mare down over the last 100 metres and explained that in his view the mare was a beaten horse.
Colonial Coaster and Box Of Frogs both raced three wide throughout.
RACE 4 – RAINE & HORNE EASTERN SHORE MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE – SET WEIGHTS – 1600 METRES
Scott Brunton, the trainer of Saturday’s Hope, was fined the sum of $50 for presenting the gelding in the birdcage wearing winkers when it was not approved to wear such gear.
Correct weight was delayed when Apprentice Raquel Clark (Crib Point) asked to view the official film. After doing so Apprentice Clark was satisfied and correct weight was declared.
Shortly after the start Cheers Chappy was hampered when tightened for room between Carr de Naska and Rialto Jess which shifted out.
During the early and middle stages Carr de Naska raced wide.
David Pires, the rider of Big Pegg, explained that the mare was off the bit from the 700 metres and did not respond to his riding until well into the home straight.
Rounding the home turn Carr de Naska raced awkwardly.
Passing the 400 metres Cheers Chappy was held up for a short distance.
Over the last 100 metres Cheers Chappy shifted out when under pressure.
Subsequent to the race Adam Trinder, the trainer of Real Mad, reported that the gelding had bled form both nostrils. Mr Trinder was advised of the provisions of AR 53A. RACE 5 – TONY CARRICK 3YO VASE – NO CLAIMS - 1100 METRES
Following a confirmed telephone call from Mr David Miller, the trainer of Underplay, who stated that the gelding had sustained an abrasion to its near hind leg and was unfit to race, Stewards ordered its withdrawn at 9.32 am. The connections were advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be submitted before Underplay races again.
Shortly after the start, Madame George was contacted by Nissky which shifted in.
For some distance approaching the 600 metres, Nissky got its head up when over-racing.
RACE 6 – LYDEN BUILDERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1000 METRES
Cannon Man was slow to begin (1L).
Shortly after the start Hyperbole shifted out away from Teriki and inconvenienced Gee Gees Jet.
Apprentice Tayla Patterson-Doyle (Gee Gees Jet) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR 137(a) in that approaching the 800 metres, she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Teriki resulting in that filly having to be checked. The interference and carelessness were both deemed to be of a low level. After taking into account her guilty plea and recent record, Tayla Patterson-Doyle’s licence to ride in races was suspended for one (1) Tasmanian race meeting to commence at midnight on Wednesday, 2 December 2015 and to expire at midnight on Wednesday, 9 December 2015
Subsequent to the race, the Club’s veterinary surgeon reported that Cannon Man was suffering from the thumps.
RACE 7 – ROGERSON & BIRCH SURVEYORS CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1100 METRES
Brightness jumped away awkwardly and was then hampered when D’inzeo jumped inwards.
Speedhump was slow to begin (1L).
Near the 300 metres Ariconte which was racing tightly to the outside of Duran, was then contacted by that gelding which shifted out resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
Ariconte then had a tendency to lay in in the home straight.
Passing the 100 metres Duran was inconvenienced that tightened for room between Gee Gees Vicki and Sunday Cider (Craig Luttrell) which shifted out when under pressure. Craig Luttrell was notified that he must attempt to straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.
Jockey Kim Moore (Ile Aux Cygnes) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR 137(a) in that when passing the 200 metres, she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of All Bar Madison resulting in that mare having to be restrained. The interference and carelessness were both deemed to be of a low level. After taking into account her guilty plea and recent record, Kim Moore’s licence to ride in races was suspended for one (1) Tasmanian race meeting to commence at midnight on Friday, 4 December 2015 and to expire at midnight on Wednesday, 9 December 2015
Over the concluding stages, Hello Gertie was inconvenienced when tightened for room by Brightness (Raquel Clark) which shifted in when under pressure. Miss Clark was notified that she would be expected to straighten her mounts sooner than she did on this occasion.
RACE 8 – TONGS SHEET METAL BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP – 1100 METRES
Savvy Princess (NZ) had to be re-saddled behind the barriers.
Shortly after the start King Of Finland was hampered when tightened for room between Pengalas Gee Gee and Lustica which shifted out. Passing the 800 metres Partenza shifted in away from Lustica and inconvenienced Downwind. Shortly after this Lustica shifted in slightly resulting in Partenza shifting in away from that mare and tightened Downwind which had to be checked.
Near the 200 metres Downwind shifted out and brushed with Pengalas Gee Gee.
RACE 9 – RAINE & HORNE KINGBOROUGH BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP – 1400 METRES
Correct weight was delayed when Jockey Bulent Muhcu, the rider of the second placegetter Hugo and Trainer Brendan McShane, asked to view the official photo of the finish. After doing so Jockey Muhcu was satisfied and correct weight was declared.
Hugo was slow to begin (1L).
During the early and middle stages Geegees Classicboy raced wide.
Prom King raced wide throughout.
For a short distance near the 400 metres Hugo was held up.
Near the 300 metres, Hugo was held up for a short distance.
Near the 250 metres, Geegees Classicboy shifted in abruptly away from Skip To The Moon and bumped heavily with Blood Orange which rolled out slightly.
Approaching the 200 metres Georgie Catania, the rider of Tycoon Navigator, got her whip tangled in the rein for a short distance.
Kyle Maskiell, the rider of Second Dozen, explained that the gelding commenced to weaken from the 200 metres and from the 150 metres, he eased the gelding down as he felt there may have been something amiss.
GENERAL On Friday, 27 November 2015, Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred at the Longford Training complex on Friday, 16 November 2015 involving licensed Stablehand Dean Fulton and licensed jockey, Miss Georgie Catania. Evidence was tendered from both parties and also licensed Trainers Mr Nigel Schuuring and Mr Dylan Clark. Mr Dean Fulton pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under the provisions of AR 175(q) in that he initiated a verbal exchange with Miss Catania which involved the use of inappropriate language and threats to damage property owned by Miss Catania. After considering submissions on penalty Mr Fulton was fined the sum of $1,000, $500 of which is to be wholly suspended for a period of two years providing that he does not re-offend under this rule.

Stewards today concluded their inquiry into the reasons for The Stockman having to be restrained near the 400 metres. After taking further evidence from Rhonda Mangan, the rider of Geegees Lillybet and Hayley McCarthy rider of The Stockman and Leon Wells, Master of Rhonda Mangan, Stewards took no further action other than to issue a reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding upon Rhonda Mangan.
