1 Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide a summary of the general settings and configuration steps which should be considered to localize the compensation solution to other countries. This document supplements the existing Configuration documentation and provides additional information where required.
2 Preparation 2.1 Prerequisites Before you start installing this scenario, the prerequisite building blocks need to be configured. Check the sequence of execution in the Building Block Prerequisites Matrix for this Packaged Solution. For country localization please ensure the required SuccessFactors language packs for that country have been activated in Provisioning and configured in the SuccessFactors instance.
3 Configuration The following configuration settings for compensation should be updated if extending the compensation solution to another country. 3.1 Country Settings 3.1.1 Maintain Currency Conversion Table When deploying compensation to other countries, different currencies and conversion to a currency for salary information may be required. The currency conversion table can be updated in SuccessFactors. 1. Log in to your instance and go to Admin Tools using the following information: Link https://

Menu Path Home > Admin Tools 2. In the Admin Tools in the portlet Compensation, select Action for All Plans, select the relevant Compensation plan in the left side pane then select Plan Setup tab and select Settings. 3. Under the Currency Conversion Rate Table field, select the appropriate Currency Conversion Table containing the country currency conversion. a. Note: The home country currency is converted to another currency when the Currency Conversion Table is assigned to the compensation plan. 3.1.3 Maintain Plan Instruction A custom message can be displayed to provide instructions for users. A local language can be selected. 1. Log in to your instance and go to Admin Tools using the following information: Link https://< server >.successfactors.com/login Menu Path Home > Admin Tools 2. In the Admin Tools in the portlet Compensation, select Action for All Plans , select the relevant Compensation plan in the left side pane then select the Plan Set up tab and select Design Worksheet. Select the dropdown option Plan Instruction 3. Under the Change Language field, select the appropriate country language to display the custom message. Note: The language must be activated in provisioning before it can be selected in this step. 3.1.4 Maintain Budgets Compensation plan budgets can vary by country. The percentage of salary allocated to a budget can be updated according to the country rules. The budgets can be updated in SuccessFactors during budget planning. 1. Log in to your instance and go to Admin Tools using the following information: Link https://< server >.successfactors.com/login Menu Path Home > Admin Tools 2. In the Admin Tools in the portlet Compensation, select Action for All Plans, Select the specific planning form on the left-hand side of the screen then choose the Plan Set up tab and select Plan Details select the dropdown option Budget. 3. Modify the appropriate existing budget by selecting Take Action and Edit. 4. If a new budget for the country is to be created then select the Add Budget Calculation button and complete the required fields 5. If a new budget rule for a country is to be created then select the Add Budget Rule and complete the required fields 3.1.5 Maintain Eligibility When deploying compensation to other countries different country eligibility rules may be required. The eligibilities can be updated in SuccessFactors. 1. Log in to your instance and go to Admin Tools using the following information: Link https://< server >.successfactors.com/login Menu Path Home > Admin Tools 2. In the Admin Tools in the portlet Compensation, select Action for All Plans, select the specific planning form on the left-hand side of the screen then choose the Plan Set up tab and select Plan Details select the dropdown option Eligibility. 3. Modify the appropriate existing eligibility rule by selecting Take Action and Edit. 4. If a new eligibility rule for the country is to be created then select the Add Rule button and complete the required fields including defining a condition for the eligibility rule.

The guidelines can be updated in SuccessFactors. 1. Log in to your instance and go to Admin Tools using the following information: Link https://< server >.successfactors.com/login Menu Path Home > Admin Tools 2. In the Admin Tools in the portlet Compensation, select Action for All Plans, select the specific planning form on the left-hand side of the screen then choose the select Plan Set up tab and select Plan Details select the dropdown option Guidelines. 3. Modify the appropriate existing guideline rule by selecting Take Action and Edit. 4. If a new guideline rule for the country is to be created then select the Add New Rule button and complete the required fields. 3.1.7 Maintain Compensation Field Data Sets Certain country data elements may be required to be transferred from SAP HCM to SuccessFactors Compensation in order to support compensation planning for that country. Additional data elements can be added to the field set in configuration settings in SAP HCM. Refer to the SAP ERP HCM: Compensation Integration Configuration Guide (FH9) which details the configuration steps necessary to add a data element to a field set.
