ADITYA BIRLA PUBLIC SCHOOL, REHLA Bi Annual Report (Sep 2012 – March 2013)

Teachers Day was celebrated with enthusiasm. For a day, the students of Class XII got into the boots of the teachers and gave them a day’s rest. Teachers were seen going from class to class, receiving cards and blessing the children. Gifts were distributed to the teachers by the Principal at the end of the day.

The Cyber Olympiad organized by the Unified Council was held in the school on the 7th of September. Mr Sumant Mishra, a senior teacher of the school lost his mother on the 8 th of September. Teachers went to the Koel River to take part in the cremation. The school family condoled the death and prayed for the repose of the departed soul.

The Half Yearly Examinations for Class XI began on the 10th of September. For the rest of the school, the Exams are slated to begin on the 18th. Dr TK Chowdhari, Principal, ABPS, Renukut visited the school for an internal audit and spoke to the teachers and the parents of the children appearing for the Board Exams on the 14th and 15th of September.

Mr Muneeshwar Singh joined the ABPS family on September 15, as TGT English. We wish he has a long and fruitful association with the school. Mr Mukesh Sinha, AVP (HR) held a meeting with the Staff on 19 September and discussed the suggestions for improving the results. An Essay Contest was organized by the Sarveshwari Samooh, Bishrampur, in which Ashish Choubey of Class XB and Shivam Raj of Class XB bagged the first and second positions respectively. The first prize was of Rs 750 while the second prize was of Rs 500. We congratulate these students on their success. Prizes were also given out to the winners in the Camel Art Contest in each of the 4 Groups that were constituted.

The Half Yearly Examinations got over on the 3rd of October, 2012. Winter Timings came into effect from the 4th of October. Papers were shown to the students from Class VI and above on the 6th of October, and to the parents of the Junior School on the 13th during the Parent Teacher Meeting. Mark Sheets were given out to the Parents directly.

Show & Tell programme was organized for the students of Class LKG – III on the second of November, 2012, the Inter House Hindi Elocution was held on 3 November while a Talent Hunt Examination for Class X students was conducted by Spandan Classes on 5 November. The Inter House Solo Dance was held on 10 November. A Book fair was organized by Scholastic India in the school premises from 21 to 24 November, 2012. Since this is a remote location, the children do not have access to quality reading material and so the Book Fair was appreciated by one and all. We also began an attempt to give our students a chance to visit the neighbouring villages in order to study their socio-economic conditions. Classes were sent for a day’s outing along with some teachers. This proved to be a picnic cum study tour which the students enjoyed immensely. The Eduheal Science Olympiad was conducted in the school on 29 November.

The Inter House Group Song contest was organized on 1 December, 2012. Mr Amresh Pandey, Career Consultant from Varanasi, spoke to the students of Classes XI and XII on the Career opportunities particularly in the Armed Forces. The First Pre Board Exam for Class XII began on 6 December. The Inter House Extempore Speech Contest was held on 15 December. Students of Class X went for a Class Picnic to Nagar Untari on December 16. A film show was organized for Class V in which the students were shown Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix. The Inter House Shot Putt was held on 24 December. School closed for the Winter Vacation on 25th December to re-open on the 7th of January, 2013.

The Principal held a workshop for the teachers on Values in the Age of Technology on 5 January, 2013. An exhibition on Renewable Energy was put up on 10 January. Parade & Boxing Drill practices started in the second week of January. The Safety Club participated in the Du Pont Safety Exhibition in which the school was adjudged second.

Saurav Pandey of Class V was awarded the Paryavaran Ratna after an All India Exam conducted by an NGO at Jaipur. The Unit Head invited the children who had taken part in the Du Pont Safety Exhibition for a dinner at the Surabhi Auditorium. Republic Day was celebrated at the school and the Ramlila Ground in which hundreds of children participated. Mr AK Sharma, TGT Hindi and Mr RK Dwivedi, TGT Computer Science were awarded after the Republic Day function for scoring the highest subject average in the Class X and XII Examinations, 2012. The NSTSE Examination was held on 28 January. The Practical Exams of Class XII started at the end of January and continued till 11 February. Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 15 February. The PSA Exam was held on 16 February. Interviews were held on 17 February for admission to LKG. A Parent Teacher Meeting was held on 22 February to sort out last minute problems before the Final Examinations. A workshop on Understanding Adolescent Behaviour was conducted for the Staff by the Principal after the PTM. The Internal Examinations began on 25 February while the Board Exams started on 1 March, 2013. CBSE Internal Exams for Class X began on 2 March. Ayush Raj & Shivam Raj of Class X were presented the Gayatri Parivar Quiz Awards at a function in Daltonganj. The school participated in the Hindustan Times Exhibition held at Daltonganj on 22 March.

Results were distributed on 30 March after which the school closed for a short session break.

The Board Results were as follows:

CLASS XII Shubham Vishwakarma topped the school with 93.6% marks in the Science Stream. Puja Shukla and Honey Shukla scored 91% and 89.8% respectively, bringing the total of students who have scored 90% and above to 3 for the first time in the history of the school.

In all, 48 students had appeared for the CBSE examination this year, out of which 29 had opted Science and 19 had taken Commerce. 15 students passed with distinction while 30 got first divisions. 9 students passed in second division. 25 students got marks over 90% in various subjects in the school which again happened for the first time. 6 students scored over 80% and below 90% marks while 11 were placed between 70% and 79%. The pass percentage of the school was 90% when the average pass percentage in the Patna Region is 77.12%.

CLASS X All the 84 children who appeared for the Class X examination have passed. 39 students had opted for the Board conducted exam while 45 had taken the School conducted exam.

6 students secured more than 90 % marks. Ashish Kumar Choubey and Shivam Raj topped the batch with a CGPA of 10.

18 students scored CGPAs between 9 and 9.9, 13 students scored between 8 and 8.9, 29 students scored between 7 and 7.9.

33 students have scored distinctions. The total number of first divisoners is 73, which works out to be 86.9%.
