Interstate Connecting Components (ICC) is one of the preeminent world-class distributors of the entire spectrum of electronic connectors, fiber optic connectors, connector accessories and tools, cable marking systems and supplies, and interconnect contacts.

In addition, ICC does value-added assembly of its key connector lines from components under QPL from its principal manufacturers.

ICC sells to the leading defense contractors and commercial manufacturers world-wide, serving the military, aerospace, shipbuilding, audio/broadcast, commercial, industrial, medical, and telecommunications markets.

Position also oversees the quality system of ICC's sister company, Trek Connect, located in the same facility. Trek Connect is a designer and manufacturer of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses for the defense industry.

ICC and Trek Connect are each registered to AS9100B and ISO 9001:2008.

Director of Quality Assurance – Job Description and Requirements

 Manage the Quality Management System (QMS), maintain the QMS compliance with AS9100, manage the transition to AS9100C.  Serve as Management Representative to interface with the AS9100 registrar, including preparation for registration and surveillance audits.  With the management team, maintain and improve all QMS-related documentation, including the Quality Manual and related procedures, work instructions, workplace visuals and forms, external documentation and specifications, and training records, in accordance with AS9100 document and record control standards.  Maintain, disseminate, and improve all performance metrics for quality-related processes and, with the management team, establish and maintain quality objectives, review trends, and establish quality plans for continuous improvement.  Manage the QMS corrective action process: recommend need for corrective action, review and assign corrective action, review all steps (interim action, root cause analysis, corrective action, implementation, verification, and approval) and maintain Corrective Action database.  With the management team, identify technical and process risks, and ensure preventive actions and improvement plans are put into place as required.  With the management team, oversee in-process and final inspection at all stages of quality-related processes.  Oversee the management and disposition of non-conforming product at all stages of quality-related processes.  Manage the QMS internal audit process: maintain and improve audit tools and train audit team.  With purchasing management, manage the supplier evaluation and approval process.  Oversee the verification and validation of all quality-related processes and equipment.  Manage the quality equipment calibration process.  With senior management and Human Resources, train all staff in the relevant aspects of the QMS.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience (education and training):  Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related discipline required, MBA or MS in a related field preferred  10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, defense contracting environment preferred  non-manufacturing experience will not be considered  3-5 years experience leading a QA Department, managing an AS9100 quality management system  In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements and underlying rationale  AS9100C preferred  Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages  Advanced math and statistics skills as they apply to quality assurance  Thorough understanding of Lean Enterprise principles  Experience with risk management tools, including FMEA and risk cubes
