Opener Q: Growing up Who Did You Want to Be Like?

Care Group Leader Notes 4.26.15

Beyond Belief!

Our Prayer to God: Father thank you for Your grace and plan that we can become like Jesus. Thank you for Your indwelling Holy Spirit that empowers us to do, say and live what you did and allow our lives to reflect You. – In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Opener Q: Growing up who did you want to be like?

John 8:31 (NKJV)

The Truth Shall Make You Free

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed."

Q 1. – Repentance is simply a change of mind; it is aligning our thinking with God’s will. Examine your heart for becoming more like Jesus if you had to rate where you have been on a scale of 1- 10 what would you say? (No Heart to be like Jesus) 1-10 (whole heart to be like Jesus) where do you want it to be? Why?

Q 2. There are two things necessary for a discipleship culture – High invitation to relationship and High Challenge to spiritual growth. Which do you need more right now to become more like Jesus?

Q 3. How are you doing in abiding in God’s Word? This is the one area that Jesus says will move us from “Believer” to a Disciple. What does your time with God look like daily? What would you like it to look like? Challenge: As a care group agree upon a plan to listen to God daily by engaging His Word. Your group needs a plan. There are many tools available on “You version” (Bible App for your phone) or you could simply pick a devotion guide as a group or decide to read the book of Philippians together for a week. As a care group decide on a plan together and then hold one another accountable to do it for the next 21 days. (Takes 21 days to make a habit)

Close in Prayer: Thank the LORD for His Word and His Power so we can be like Him!
