2013 CHILDREN’S WATER POSTER CONTEST “Flo the Flamingo”

In keeping with the 2013 DRIP “Join the Flock” campaign, the Grand Valley DRIP Committee is announcing that this year’s annual Children’s Poster Contest theme is “Flo the Flamingo”. Since flamingos are non-native to this area, “Flo” is helping educate the local community on what native and non-native outdoor landscaping looks like. The poster contest is a means for children to present illustrations of those landscape examples while incorporating the “Join the Flock” message.

Posters will be judged based on age (7 to 13); creativity; uniqueness; relation to the “Join the Flock” campaign theme, and artistic abilities. DRIP Committee Members from Clifton Water, City of Grand Junction, Town of Palisade, and Ute Water will evaluate and select the winning entries.

Four artists will receive a summer pass to the Lincoln Park Pool. Their posters will also be featured in various media outlets (including KKCO Channel 11 News, the DRIP website and the “Join the Flock” Facebook Page) and at the various water provider offices.

When submitting the poster, please include this form for judging purposes. The information provided will only be used for the sole-purpose of contacting the winners. If you have any questions contact Joseph Burtard at (970) 242-7491 or David Reinertsen at (970) 434-7328. Title of Poster:______Artist:______Address:______Age:______Phone:______

Posters have to be on 8 ½ X 11 size paper. You can mail or drop off the poster to any of your local domestic water providers (Clifton Water, City of Grand Junction, Town of Palisade or Ute Water) no later than July 1, 2013.
