Local Work Group Meeting
Call to order Leone called to order the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the West Greeley Conservation District Board of Supervisors at 12:33 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016.

Don Hijar, Pawnee Buttes Seed Company – Would like to do some co- sponsoring field day opportunities on Tillage workshops, cover crops, crop rotation, back to basic.
APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 2016 MEETING MINUTES
Simpson moved to approve. Foose seconded. Motion passed.
APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 2015 OFFICER AND BOARD REPORTS
Simpson moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Foose seconded. Motion passed.
APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 2015 BILLS PAID
Miller moved to approve. Miller seconded. Motion carried.
NRCS REPORT
Rusty Norrie, DC/NRCS CRP General – Ended with 99 offers. CRP Grasslands – Ended with 44 offers EQIP – 18 applications CSP – March 31 deadline. Norrie will be gone in April – Owsley will be acting DC
DISTRICT MANAGER AND STAFF REPORTS
Houston Garden:
o Several incoming garden plot applicants
Macsalka announced the new Education Coordinator, Sarah Maisonneuve will be starting March 21, 2016.
Tree Sale Update – Schneider gave a status report – 15,583 trees sold to date.

Scholarship Updates – three total received
Camp Rocky Scholarship – Currently one young girl interested. Simpson moved to approve 5 scholarships at $350 each. Bentley seconded. Motion carried.
Personnel Policy Book Changes – will be reviewed in April meeting. Macsalka will email proposed policy ahead of April meeting allowing time to review. Leone will also look in to 401k vs PERA. Macsalka will try to get a buy out amount from PERA.
Houston Garden:
o Erin Brown is rendering a completed map
o Houston Garden Committee – Macsalka is seeking up to two members willing to assist on HG decision making needs
o Community Foundation Paperwork – Simpson moved to sign paperwork for deeding Houston Garden to WGCD. Bentley seconded. Motion carried.
o Projects:
. Audubon Habitat – WG playing half the cost
. Boy Scout Trail – Kevin Madden is ready to begin March 25 or thereabout
. Staffing / P and J Landscaping Contract– is a priority
Weld County Extension Leadership and Ambassador 2016 Program Request - $1100 commitment. Simpson moved to approve one or more if needed. Foose seconded. Motion passed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Swearing in and Oath of Office for Tracee Bentley conducted by Leone. Resolution to Cancel Election – Simpson moved to cancel due to lack of candidates. Bentley seconded. Motion passed. Leafgren Land Lease Renewal for 2016 – Foose moved to renew. Bentley seconded. Motion passed.

Time is reserved on the agenda for Executive Session in accordance with (CRS 24-6-402 (4) (f). For the purpose of 6-month performance evaluation of Natalie Macsalka in accordance with (CRS 24-6-402 (4) (f). Postponed until March 14, 2016.
