NKCAC SERVICE COUNTIES PROGRAM

 Quality pre-school for low-income children ages three to Boone, Campbell, Kenton, five years old that fosters cognitive, emotional, social and Pendleton physical development of each child on an individual level  Nine centers in four counties Head  Family engagement; involving the parents as a part of the child’s educational experience Start  Center-Based or Home-Based services, according to family needs  School Readiness goals that are aligned with the Kentucky Pre-school Standards  Child Care available at the Newport and Boone centers

 Working in collaboration with Boone, Campbell, Kenton Head Start centers and child care providers throughout the region, provides center-based early Early Head Start learning opportunities and quality enhancements for children, birth to three.  Parent engagement and education

Community Services  Limited Emergency Financial Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, - Assistance for utilities, rent, and Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton other financial crises, based on Neighborhood local fund availability and Centers guidelines  Information, Referrals and Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Advocacy with other social Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton services and programs  Financial Education: Budget & Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Credit, Pre-purchase, Homebuyer Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton Education, & Post Purchase Counseling and Workshops  Emergency Food Pantries & Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Mobile Food Pantries Grant, Owen, Pendleton  Free Clothing Distribution Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Owen  Energy Conservation: Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Weatherization services along Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton with Counseling and Education  Prescription Assistance/Free Campbell, Carroll, Kenton, Pendleton Pharmacy Services through Faith (and by referral in Boone, Gallatin, Community Pharmacy Grant, Owen)  EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Owen, promotion and access to Free Tax Pendleton Preparation  Training and Employment Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, resources for job seekers, and Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton Revised September 2015 Volunteer Employment opportunities for those needing volunteer hours for public benefits or community service requirements  Educational Assistance funds and Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, scholarships, resources for Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton training and education and back- to-school support and resources for families  Ready, Set, Grow case Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, management and goal coaching Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton services for customers, using the Family Development approach and model of services

NKCAC SERVICE COUNTIES PROGRAM

 kynectors in each of the six neighborhood centers Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, educate residents about the Kentucky Health Benefit Kenton, Pendleton Exchange, and the Affordable Care Act to help kynect individuals and small businesses determine their health plan needs, and facilitate enrollment in the exchange. kynectors organize and conduct significant outreach and educational events.  16-24 year old, at-risk youth who have dropped out of Boone, Campbell, Carroll, school are paid to earn their GED certification, to learn Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, the construction trade, to build low-income housing, Pendleton YouthBuild and to engage in community service work; followed by job or post-secondary education counseling and placement.  Job training program for ages 55 and older. Trainees Bath, Boone, Bourbon, Campbell, Carroll, Senior Clark, Fayette, Fleming, Franklin, Gallatin, are placed in paid work experience sites at Grant, Harrison, Henry, Jessamine, Employment government and nonprofit agencies while they work on Kenton, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, job skills and engage in a job search to secure Nicholas, Owen, Pendleton, Shelby, Scott, (SCSEP) unsubsidized employment. Spencer, Trimble, Woodford  Weatherization – health and safety, and energy Boone, Campbell, Carroll, conservation repairs and services to lower home Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, energy costs. Pendleton  Crittenden Apartments - 10 affordable rental units Grant for income-eligible households, including seniors and Housing those with disabilities. Section 8 certified.  Senior Home Repair – provides low and moderate Kenton, with occasional Services income senior citizens with critical home repairs and opportunities in other counties accessibility adaptations that will improve the health, safety, and general condition of their home.  Magnolia Glen – 60 affordable rental units for Boone income-eligible housing, including seniors and those with disabilities. Section 8 certified.

Revised September 2015 Community  Prevents child abuse and neglect by supporting and Boone, Bourbon, Campbell, strengthening families and encouraging communities Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Collaboration to work together. Services include in-home services, Kenton, Nicholas, Owen, for Children community engagement and awareness, community Pendleton, Scott (CCC) partner collaboration and parent education.  Rekindle provides job creation, training, and Boone, Campbell, Carroll, business opportunities for low and moderate income Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, Rekindle residents offering business plan development, Pendleton coaching, and educational programs for aspiring entrepreneurs.
