A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Sergeant Michael C. Cable. With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Sergeant Michael C. Cable, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul. WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael C. Cable, of Philpot, Kentucky, was born on May 17, 1986; and he traversed these earthly bounds March 27, 2013; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael C. Cable was the beloved son of Raymond and Vickie Johnston; he was the caring brother of Lisa M. Osborne, Wendy M. Dickens, Kennedy F. Johnston, Idalis M. Johnston, and Raymond L. Johnston Jr.; and he leaves behind many other family member who loved him dearly; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael C. Cable graduated from Daviess County High School in 2004. His hobbies and interests included spending time with his family and friends, golfing, playing poker, fishing, hunting, competitive sports, and watching the Green Bay Packers; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael C. Cable joined the Army in 2007. In 2010, he was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, the life of Sergeant Michael C. Cable ended prematurely of injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by enemy forces in Shinwar District, Nangarhar

Province, Afghanistan; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael C. Cable gallantly served his country with honor and distinction. his awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Air Assault Badge; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has the highest respect for Sergeant Michael C. Cable and is deeply grateful for the ultimate sacrifice he made for the freedom of all Americans; and WHEREAS, the passing of Sergeant Michael C. Cable has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Sergeant Michael C. Cable and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Sergeant Michael C. Cable.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Raymond and Vickie Johnston, 4054 Highway 142, Philpot, Kentucky 42366.
