Job Purpose Ensure that guest accommodation and facilities are presented to the highest standards of appearance and cleanliness. With the Head Housekeeper, ensure the Housekeeping team provides a high quality service commensurate with 5 star facilities at all times whilst preserving guest privacy.
Principal Accountabilities 1. Act as team leader for the Housekeeping team, ensuring that shifts are covered, priorities are dealt with and the service is delivered to a consistently high standard. Set a personal example to them team so that they work positively are well motivated and take pride in their work. 2. Work on a shift basis, usually 6am-3pm, but with flexibility to cover 3pm-11pm or 3pm-9pm when required. 3. Ensure all areas at Moddershall Oaks are presented to the same 5 star standard, including the spa, venue, deli and guest accommodation. 4. Maintain stocks of cleaning materials, bedding, towels and gowns so they are readily available when required. 5. Prepare guest accommodation for their arrival and ensure bedrooms are presented to the highest standard of cleanliness and comfort. 6. Assist the Head Housekeeper with preparing the housekeeping rotas and ensure that shifts are covered so that all work priorities can be completed on time. 7. As a nominated first aider, check the contents of the First Aid boxes monthly and maintain a stock of First Aid Materials. 8. Note any possible health and safety and maintenance issues and ensure they are immediately reported so that standards are maintained. 9. Check the standard of cleanliness and presentation of all areas and address any issues. 10.Attend training sessions and courses and to assist with the ‘on-the-job’ training of new staff, as required.
11.Respond to guest queries in a polite and responsive manner. Handle any complaints in a professional and courteous manner and provide appropriate solutions, keeping the Head Housekeeper aware of all complaints. Suggest solutions to eradicate future complaints.
12.Read all relevant company literature, notices and other correspondence and to regularly observe site and departmental correspondence.
13.Ensure the proper care and security of guest items, hotel equipment, stock, furniture and fixtures, reporting malfunction or theft line management.
14.Assist in keeping operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as electricity, water, linen, stationery, cleaning materials, and other equipment.
15.Comply with all company and statutory requirements including health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention, etc. General requirements . Participate in internal/external meetings and training as required . Positively participate in one to ones and appraisal .
