From the Pastor

On Tuesday I started back at work after two weeks of annual leave. Robyn, Peter and I camped at Halls Gap for 5 nights. We experienced some very strong winds and two trips to the Doctor for Robyn but we still had a very pleasant time and completed some of our favourite Halls Gap walks. We had great neighbours in the Caravan Park and made interesting connections. Peter then returned home and Robyn and I went to my Parents’ holiday home at Blairgowrie for 8 nights. With Robyn being unwell we chose to be quiet. Still, we fitted in a lunch with Robyn’s Parents and two Aunties and we had morning tea with a dear friend from our Wonthaggi days. We also completed some significant outdoor projects; dealing with weeds and invasive trees that are a pest in that part of the Mornington Peninsula. I went along to New Peninsula Rosebud campus on the first Sunday then last Sunday we both went along to Church on a Hill at Highpoint. Both were much appreciated experiences of worship.

While we were driving across country on backroads to Halls Gap, I asked Robyn if she brought bacon and eggs. The answer was “Yes” to bacon and “No” to eggs. I said, “We’ll be able to get some somewhere”. Within only a couple of minutes we passed a farm with a sign advertising eggs. We stopped and paid $3 into the honesty box and took away a dozen lovely farm eggs with a great mix of colours and sizes. It was a remarkably quick answer and a very satisfactory solution. Was it a coincidence? I took it as one of those lovely “God-incidences”, when God steps in and shows love and care. It was a reminder to trust God, who knows our needs. We certainly gave thanks for experience as well as for the eggs.

Welcome to visitors today. Please come and join with us after the service for a cup of tea/coffee.

Messy Church Wedding Have you ever been to a wedding with 10 bridesmaids? Today at Messy Church from 4.30-6.30pm we look at a story Jesus told about 10 bridesmaids who were waiting for the groom. You can read about it in Matthew 10: 1-13. Come along to explore the themes of waiting, watching and being prepared. Sausages and salad for tea with some wedding feast food to follow. Hope to see you then, Robyn. Financial Matters Praise be to our mighty and faithful God for his generous blessing of this Church! This month we received our annual lease payment for the Telstra installation on our property. Our loan has now been reduced to $29,200. That is remarkable! Income from offerings in this current financial year is well ahead of budget since we received some large special gifts. Praise God. Change For Change Thanks to all who contributed their spare change to Mercy Ships. We banked $78.25 towards the Mercy Ships ministry of delivering free medical service to people who otherwise would have no access to health care.
