TRUCKING EFFICIENCY WORKSHOP: TIRE PRESSURE, 6X2 AXLES, IDLE REDUCTION, ENGINE PARAMETERS, AND ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSIONS “The challenges of energy security and environmental sustainability require us to work together; fleets, manufacturers, NGOs, etc, in an all new way. This forum provides just that opportunity!” Mike O’Connell, Sr Director Supply Chain Fleet, Frito Lay

Improving the efficiency of trucks has substantial potential to reduce fuel expenses. “If implemented, currently available trucking technologies could earn fuel savings of as much as $13,000 per truck with a payback time of less than 24 months,” Mike Roeth, Operations Lead, Trucking Efficiency. “Innovative fleets are saving money now through the adoption of these technologies and improving practices focused on efficiency.” Hear industry leaders share their insights on some of the best efficiency technologies, as well as real-world examples of money saved by fleets. Click the images below to find out more information EVENT FORMAT:

After providing an overview of each technology, we will break into small workshops to openly debate the benefits and challenges of adopting them. Together, we will brainstorm actions to harness these benefits and limit any challenges. Each workshop will focus on one of four specific technologies: ● Tire Pressure Systems ● 6x2 Axles ● Idle-Reduction Solutions ● Electronic Transmissions ● Engine Parameters ● Tires ● Down-Speeding

The workshop will be complemented by exhibits of available technologies with manufacturers on-hand for any questions.

Trucking Efficiency aims to double the efficiency of the North American trucking fleet by eliminating barriers to information, demand, and supply. CWR and NACFE have been collaborating on the Trucking Efficiency operation for more than two years. Initially incubated by the Rocky Mountain Institute in 2009, NACFE was launched as a stand-alone nonprofit, working with stakeholders across the industry, including truck manufacturers, technology experts, original equipment manufacturers and fleet owners and operators. Recognizing complementary strengths, CWR and NACFE joined forces to accelerate adoption, in part through solutions like TruckingEfficiency.org.
