RESEARCH INTERESTS Structure and Dynamics of solid surfaces. Understanding of the structure and dynamics of solid surfaces is one of the main issues in surface science and a prerequisite to the understanding of the physical and chemical properties at surfaces. To obtain a detailed understanding of the surface adsorption, desorption and dissociation of a gas-solid surface is well-known very important in many aspects such as heterogeneous catalysis. I am interested in the kinetics and dynamics of the adsorption process and their dependence on chemical nature, composition and structure of the surface, temperature, coverage, presence of coadsorbates, pressure of the particles. Ultrathin metal and/or oxides layers on metals and oxides In this field I am interested in the following investigations: (1) Growth, characterization and modification; (2) Electronic, geometric, chemical properties and adsorption; (3) Surface reactivity; (4) Surface thermal dynamics. Ultrathin Metal films on polymer surfaces Metal / polymer interfaces have been widely used in many technical applications, such as microelectronics, magnetic recording devices and food packaging. The physico-chemical interaction occurring at metal-polymer interface controls the quality and growth mechanisms of the metal layer and therefore determines the properties of the metal/polymer interface. I am interested in the thermodynamics and kinetics of metal thin films growth on various polymers surfaces.
