Prelude Invocation Congregation: It’s true, it’s true, this baby is for YOU! And now, we see, this baby is for ME!! Lighting of the Advent Wreath Prayer We praise you, O God, for this victory wreath that marks our days of preparation for Christ’s advent. As we light the candles on this wreath, strengthen our hearts as we await the Lord’s The Celebration: Christmas is a Time of Joy coming in glory. Enlighten us with your grace, that we may serve our neighbors in need. Grant Benediction this through Christ our Lord, whose coming is certain and whose day draws near. Amen. Congregational Hymn: Holy Child within the Manger Prayers of the Church Offering Holy Child within the manger, long ago yet ever near; Come as friend to ev’ry stranger, Processional: Father, Grant that what we sing with our lips we may believe in our hearts. The Invitation: Come Along with Me Once again we tell the story—how your love for us was shown, Choir—verse one, Congregation—Please sing verses 2 and 3 When the image of your glory Come along with me to Bethlehem Wore an image like our own. Out on that starry plain Come, enlighten with your wisdom, Where shepherds gathered ‘round to hear Come and fill us with your grace. The angels glad refrain. May the fire of your compassion “ Glory to God on high,” they sang, Kindle ev’ry land and race. “And peace on earth to men.” Come along with me to Bethlehem Holy Child within the manger, lead us ever in your way, Where hope is born again. So we see in ev’ry stranger how you come to us today. In our lives and in our living Come along with me to Bethlehem Give us strength to live as you. Where wise men from afar That our hearts might be forgiving Were shown the way to the manger side And our spirits strong and true. LAST ADVENT WORSHIP is this Wednesday at 6:30 pm: The theme is the “Songs of Mary” with Holly and Ryan Stilwell sharing on “Bearing.” These services are broadcast at 8pm on cable TV. GOD’S GLOBAL BARNYARD in Fellowship Court will be collecting money through December. We are working towards buying as many bees, chickens, and pigs as we can to help fight world hunger. How many animals can Zion purchase?
WE ARE IN NEED of more board members! Contact Bridget Lux or the church office if there is a board you’d be interested in serving on in 2015. “Serve on a board; you won’t be bored!”
THE PARISH HEALTH office is open Sundays between worship services to help with any concerns.
A NURSERY IS PROVIDED for small children. Quiet bags and children’s bulletins are available too. The 8:30 SERVICE is broadcast live on KLFD, on Cable TV at 11 a.m. today and on Monday at 10:30 am.
