1. Welcome and Opening

3. Minutes of the previous meeting June 24th 2016

4. Business arising from the previous meeting

 Stage 1 Garden Project - hopefully ready by week 5

 Reading Recovery - a case has to be made to the Director for extra allocation.

 Director to attend a P&C meeting in the near future.

5. Correspondence

 In: - Lantern Club has asked for a blurb about MHPS & some photos to be put in the club magazine. It was agreed that the children of parents in the meeting would be used in the photo to save time in seeking consent from other parents.

• Principal’s Report

- . School sign - Receiving great feedback about the sign.

- Homework Program Report - Step 3 of 7 has been completed. News to follow.

- Electric front gate - has been installed. Will be connected in the near future.

1 - LMBR - New finance system across the whole education department stating October 17th 2016. As a result, Term 4 payments will be handed out earlier with payment also due earlier than usual.

- School Readiness Program started 25/7/16 9:30 - 11am Monday. It was such a success that a class from 11:30 - 1pm has opened.

- Term 3 Calendar to be handed out.

- Speech Pathologist has started assessments.

- SRC - First training day for the new SRC will be held on 28/7/16.

• President’s Report

- Sth Sydney P&C group now has 10 schools. Next meeting held on 12/8/16. Everyone is welcome.

- Election Day BBQ was a success. Thank you to all volunteers (17 in total) who came and helped out. $1700 was raised with a profit of just under $1000.

- Mufti Day gold coin donation raised $292

- Still awaiting response from State Grant - playground equipment. Due to be announced in December 2016.

- Still awaiting response from the Lyons Club Grant - Buddy Bench. Due to be announced in August.

- NSW ClubGrants - MHPS was successful in this Grant. $5760 for CLOTE iPads from the Lantern Club.

- 5c Challenge to be done again in Term 4

- We are on the list for Bunnings BBQ when the new Kingsgrove store opens up.

- Raised the topic of a fundraiser for Term 3. School Disco was mentioned as the most desirable. To further discuss at next meeting.

• Treasurer’s Report

- Current balance is $5299.14

7. General Business

i) Parents needed to volunteer their time to read with the kindergarten kids in the afternoons. WWCC (Working With Children Check) needed.
