MetroTex Leadership Academy – Application Form

INSTRUCTIONS: Please do the following:  Read the MetroTex Leadership Academy Rules and Regulations including attendance requirements.  Complete each section in full. Only complete applications will be considered.  This application has been created in a template format and can be completed online. The application must contain a signature (electronic signature is satisfactory). To complete questions, click in the gray areas and begin typing.  Resumes may be attached but cannot be submitted in lieu of filling out the application.  Applications should be submitted by: e-mail to [email protected]  Candidate must sign application and turn in no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016.  The Broker/Manager/Principal Recommendation Form and two (2) Business Associate Recommendation Forms may be included with your completed application packet or submitted directly to Lei Ann Reeves by the person submitting the recommendation. All Recommendation Forms must be submitted by April 29, 2016. (Affiliates must submit a recommendation from their Principal Affiliate or immediate supervisor.)  Applicants must be full dues-paying members in good standing of The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® or the North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS® as REALTOR® members or Affiliate members?  Class participants must maintain their membership in either The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® or North Texas Commercial Association throughout the term of the program.  Personal interviews will be held during the month of May. Each applicant will be notified of their scheduled interview time.  All applicants will be notified of the Selection Committee’s decision during the first week of June.  Tuition must be paid in full by June 30, 2016.

Scholarships

 A limited number of scholarships are available for the MetroTex Leadership Academy. You must submit a scholarship application along with this application to be considered. (Please see MetroTex Leadership Academy Scholarship Application.)

MetroTex Leadership Academy Selection Criteria: The Selection Committee is looking for applicants who:

 Have a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest to serve the community, industry and The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® or the North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS®.  Have demonstrated their commitment through involvement in community and industry activities.  Are interested in and intend to seek positions on boards, commissions or key leadership roles in the community, industry organizations and the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® or the North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS®.  Have exhibited a capacity for leadership/team building within their own organizations through significant accomplishments relative to their age and experience.  Represent a cross-section of participants from the industry (residential, commercial, affiliates, etc.)  Are willing to commit the time and energy required to complete the program.

VII. COMMITMENT

BY APPLYING FOR THE METROTEX LEADERSHIP ACADEMY, YOU ARE COMMITTING TO THE FOLLOWING:

 ORIENTATION/TEAM BUILDING PROGRAM (Attendance is mandatory!) This commitment beginning on Friday, September 16, 2016 from (08:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and ending on Saturday, September 17, 2016 (6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.).

 ATTEND ALL PROGRAM DAYS (October through June) including a community service project. Program days schedules will be available before interviews. If 2 program days are missed, the participant will not graduate with their class. A participant may schedule a makeup of the day(s) they missed the following year

Page 4 of 6 MetroTex Leadership Academy – Application Form (if space allows). Only after the makeup days are completed will a participant be considered a graduate of the MetroTex Leadership Academy.

 If a participant misses 3 program days (Required or Mandatory) they will not be eligible to complete the program year. No refund will be given.

 Any participant who misses a mandatory day will not graduate with their class. A participant may schedule a makeup of the day they missed the following year (if space allows). Only after the makeup day is completed will a participant be considered a graduate of the MetroTex Leadership Academy.

 Attend the Leadership Skills Enhancement Program (Attendance is mandatory!) on Friday, October 7, 2016 (7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)   Attend Spokesperson Training (Attendance is mandatory!) on Thursday, December 1, 2016 or Friday, December 2, 2016 (7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)   Attend the SIMSOC (Attendance is mandatory!) program on Friday, March 3, 2017 (7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).

 Use of electronic devices is not allowed during any of the program days except on designated phone breaks.

 Must be in attendance for the entire session of all days for attendance to count.

DUE TO BUDGET REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROGRAM, ONCE A PARTICIPANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM, THE TUITION IS DUE AND PAYABLE. TUITION MUST BE PAID NO LATER THAN JUNE 30, 2016. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. Tuition can be made payable via a check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

If selected, I will fulfill all obligations outlined in this application. In addition, I agree to serve The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® in a voluntary capacity in the future.
